Availability
Hi there,
I do currently have availability. Please book a free 30 minute clarity call with me, for an opportunity for us to chat and perhaps for you to ask me any questions and for us to decide if we are the right therapeutic fit for each other or if I can help signpost you to a more relevant service.
About me and my therapy practice
Helen Hobson, Integrative Therapeutic Counsellor
I wonder how you are today? Does it feel like you're giving a lot of yourself, yet you still feel unsure, tired or unseen?
I'm Helen, an integrative therapeutic counsellor with a background, of over 30 years, in the creative arts. My work within this industry gives me a particular understanding of pressure, self-doubt, change and identity, including considering perhaps, who you are when your roles or circumstances shift.
I would like to give you the time to pause, talk openly and explore whatever may be weighing on your mind in our sessions. You don't need to be in crisis or even know exactly what it is you want to say. We can explore this together and work out how you're feeling today, so you're not on your own
Practice description
I work with adults experiencing anxiety, low mood, stress and life transitions. I have a special interest in fertility challenges. With a background in movement and mindfulness, I'm also interested in how stress is held in the body as well as the mind. Where it's helpful, I share simple ideas about how stress and emotion work in the body, so you feel informed and in charge of your own process.
I meet with clients face to face and online, in a calm and confidential space, at your pace and with no judgement. Together we can make sense of what is happening and find ways forward that feel manageable to you. I'm a member of BACP (MBACP), an accredited member of NCPS (MNCPS Acc.) and a member of the British Infertility Counselling Association (MBICA). I work to the BACP Ethical Framework and have regular supervision, which keeps my practice safe, accountable and professional, and gives us a healthy foundation to work from together
I'm also a counsellor with Westmeria Counselling Services, offering low-cost counselling to people who live in the Borough of Bromley. My private practice is separate and open to anyone, wherever you live.
Currently training: 2026/27 Attachment Theory: CPCAB Level 5 Diploma. As I qualify, I'll be working with an attachment-informed lens.
Continuing professional development: Working with Trauma · Internal Family Systems (Frank Anderson's Trauma Treatment Programme) · Boarding School Syndrome · Foundations of CBT · Foundations of EFT · Autism & ADHD Awareness
My first session
In our first session together we will be collecting information and you may find I am asking a lot of questions, this will include an Outcomes Measures form, discussing Mood and Anxiety plus an Initial Assessment. We will have already spoken in your free Clarity Call and I will have a little information about why you are seeking therapy at this time, but now we will have the opportunity to begin to talk together about your own unique circumstances and find out, assess, where you would like our focus to lead in our subsequent sessions.
