About me and my therapy practice
I am a BACP-accredited psychotherapist with a Postgraduate Diploma in Psychotherapy and Counselling. Over the years, I have gained extensive experience working within charitable organisations and private practice, supporting people through a wide range of emotional and life challenges. My experience includes working with trauma, abuse and domestic violence, grief and loss, depression, anxiety and panic attacks, stress, relationship difficulties, isolation, parenting challenges, and experiences of feeling lost or disconnected from a sense of meaning and purpose.
My approach is Existential-Integrative, which means I work collaboratively with you to understand your experiences, emotions, relationships and the meaning you make of your life. I believe that every person’s story is unique, and I aim to provide a warm, respectful and non-judgemental space where you can feel heard, understood and accepted. I am particularly mindful of the ways that culture, identity, family, relationships and life experiences can shape how we see ourselves and the world around us.
I work with people from diverse cultural and personal backgrounds and offer therapy in both English and Turkish. Sessions are available face-to-face, online or by telephone, allowing you to choose the format that feels most comfortable and suitable for you. My aim is to support you in developing a deeper understanding of yourself, navigating difficult experiences and finding ways of moving forward that feel meaningful to you.
My first session
Therapy can offer you a space to pause, reflect and gain a deeper understanding of yourself and your experiences. Together, we can explore what you are going through, make sense of the challenges you may be facing, and consider the choices and possibilities available to you. Through this process, you may develop greater self-awareness and discover new ways of understanding yourself and moving forward.
Taking the first step can sometimes feel difficult, but reaching out and arranging an initial session can be an opportunity to explore what has brought you to therapy and what you hope to gain from it. It also gives us both the chance to see how we feel about working together and whether the therapeutic relationship feels right for you. If we decide to continue, we can agree on a therapeutic framework that provides a safe and supportive foundation for our ongoing work.
