About me and my therapy practice
I'm James, an integrative therapist, counselling in Norwich. There are thoughts, feelings and experiences in life which can be difficult to make sense of. These can relate to our current circumstances, anxieties about the life that lies ahead, or the historical struggles that seem to linger over us. Too often, the task of addressing these complex issues becomes daunting, and we become trapped. As a therapist, I'm here to walk alongside you. Whether it's relationship struggles, depression or anxiety, my integrative approach to therapy is tailored to meet you where you are. Together, we will sensitively explore the depth of your experience and move towards understanding and growth.
My approach is integrative, focusing on psychodynamic and existential theories. An integrative approach blends different schools of therapy, ensuring you receive therapy that fits you. Using psychodynamic and existential theories highlights how unconscious processes influence your experiences and ability to live a meaningful life.
Choosing the right therapist is crucial for effective therapy. I hope my profile gives you a sense of how we might collaborate effectively. I am committed to creating a safe, supportive environment where you can explore these deep questions and work towards meaningful change. Please feel free to reach out via phone or email if you have any questions or would like to explore working together. Your journey to a more meaningful life can start with a single step, helping you navigate life's difficulties and move toward a healthier, more fulfilling life.
Practice description
My integrative approach blends various therapeutic techniques, including cognitive behavioural therapy, psychodynamic theory, and existential therapy, tailored to your unique needs. This personalised method ensures that we can address your specific challenges, fostering deeper insight and personal growth. Whether you're questioning your life's direction, struggling with a loss of meaning, or seeking a more authentic existence, my approach is designed to meet you where you are.
Exploring existential theories help us understand the profound questions about existence, freedom, choice, and responsibility that everyone faces. These theories provide a framework to examine how you find meaning in your life, how you cope with the awareness of mortality, and how you navigate the isolation and freedom that come with being human. In our sessions, we'll explore how these existential themes manifest in your thoughts, feelings, and behaviours. By bringing unconscious patterns to the surface, we can identify how past experiences and deeply held beliefs impact your current struggles.
Through this integrative approach, we aim not only to address your immediate concerns but also to promote long-term personal growth. You'll gain a deeper understanding of your inner world and develop the tools to navigate life's challenges with greater resilience and clarity. This journey can lead to a more authentic and fulfilling life, aligned with your true values and aspirations.
