About me and my therapy practice
Hello, I’m April — a counsellor with lived experience of neurodivergence, offering a warm, grounded and respectful space for adults navigating their own neurotype or supporting neurodivergent loved ones.
I specialise in working with autistic and otherwise neurodivergent adults, including those who are newly exploring their identity or adjusting to a late diagnosis of Autism, ADHD or AuDHD. My own experience means I understand the many ways people communicate, feel, process, and move through the world — and you’ll never be asked to mask or edit yourself here.
You don’t need a formal diagnosis to seek support. Many people I work with are exploring neurodivergence for the first time, often carrying a mix of clarity, confusion, grief, relief or imposter syndrome.
I support clients with anxiety, emotional regulation, low self-worth, sensory stress, burnout, relationship patterns, and life transitions. This includes those trying to make sense of their past through a neurodivergent lens.
I also work with parents of neurodivergent or SEND children, offering space to reflect, decompress, and reconnect with your own needs without judgement.
My approach is collaborative, honest and deeply relational — therapy that allows you to show up as you are, not as you think you “should” be.
Practice description
My practice is neuroaffirmative, trauma-informed and deeply relational. I don’t use a one-size-fits-all model. Instead, I work with who you are, how you communicate and what you need from therapy. There’s no pressure to perform, no clinical detachment, and no expectation that you arrive with everything figured out.
I welcome stimming, pauses, info-dumping, tangents, directness, indirectness, not knowing where to start, and needing time to warm up. Therapy should support your nervous system — not overwhelm it.
Sessions are available online across the UK.
I work with adults aged 18+.
People come to me when they’re feeling stuck, overstretched, misunderstood, or ready to make sense of their identity through a neurodivergent lens. Some want a place to process long-standing patterns; others want practical support around day-to-day challenges. All are welcome.
If you’re navigating neurodivergence — your own or someone else’s — you don’t have to do it on your own. I’m here to listen, attune, and walk alongside you at your pace.
My first session
Sessions are available online across the UK.
Length: 50 minutes
Fee: £50
The first session is a chance to see what it’s like for us to sit together for 50 minutes. There’s no performance and no pressure — just an opportunity to get a feel for whether this space works for you.
You’re welcome to share as much or as little as feels right. Many people talk about their past experiences, current struggles, questions about neurodivergence, or the hopes they hold for the future.
You might also want to get a sense of how I work, how I listen, and whether you feel seen and understood by me.
We’ll explore what you’d like from therapy, what feels difficult right now, and whether we’re a good fit. The relationship between us is at the heart of the work, and this first session is simply the beginning of that conversation.

Practice description
Through exploring my own neurotype and supporting neurodivergent family members, I’ve gained invaluable firsthand insight into the unique joys, challenges, and perspectives that neurodivergence brings.
These experiences have deepened my understanding of how neurodivergence can shape communication, relationships, and daily life, and have instilled a lasting respect for the individuality and resilience of those I support.
Combined with my professional training, this lived experience enables me to offer a compassionate, affirming space where clients feel safe to explore their strengths, challenges, and aspirations at their own pace.
I work with adults who have received a late diagnosis of ADHD, Autism and AuDHD and understand the complex emotions that can accompany that process - relief, grief, imposter and syndrome. I also support SEND parents navigating the demands and rewards of raising a neurodivergent child, offering space for reflection, self-care, and connection.
Whether you're neurodivergent yourself or affected by neurodivergence in your relationships, I aim to support you with empathy and care that’s tailored to your experience.
Trained at Re-Vision, I work within an Integrative and Transpersonal framework, blending therapeutic approaches to meet individual needs. This includes supporting personal growth, emotional insight, and - where welcome - the spiritual dimension of life.
My first session
Available online or in person
This 50 minute session is a chance for us to meet and talk about what’s bringing you to counselling. We’ll explore your hopes, any concerns, and what you’re looking for from the process. It’s also an opportunity for you to get a feel for how I work, and for us both to consider whether we’re a good fit to work together. The aim is to begin building a foundation for a supportive and trusting therapeutic relationship.
I’m usually able to offer an initial consultation within two weeks of your enquiry.
