About me and my therapy practice
I work as a person-centred therapist, offering a warm, confidential and non-judgemental space where clients can explore their thoughts, feelings and experiences at their own pace. I believe that when people are met with empathy, acceptance and genuine understanding, they are better able to connect with themselves and find their own way forward.
My work is grounded in building a trusting and authentic therapeutic relationship. I do not seek to diagnose or direct, but instead work alongside clients, valuing their lived experience and supporting them to develop greater self-awareness and self-acceptance.
I have experience working with neurodivergent clients, including both adults and children, and aim to offer a flexible and affirming approach that recognises and respects individual ways of thinking, communicating and experiencing the world. I work in a way that is led by the client, adapting sessions to suit each person’s needs and preferences.
I welcome clients from all backgrounds and value each person as unique.
I am a Registered Nurse with over 40 years general practice - Ward - District - Advanced Nurse Practitioner with prescribing. RGN - Dip Health - BSc - MSc - Counselling Diploma. After nursing I qualified as a Councillor which I currently practice.
I work ethically with integrity in the BACP guidelines and ethical framework. All confidential information is stored within GDPR regulations.
Practice description
In our sessions I will provide a safe private environment. As we work together, you will be in control of what you wish to discuss or not discuss. I will ask questions to help in our understanding of the issues we are aiming to address using my experience, expertise and training.
Prior to the first session I offer a free 15 minute phone call so as to find out a bit more about each other and answer any questions. If you are happy to continue I will arrange with you a convenient time to meet up online or via telephone contact a 50 minute session.
My first session
Offer of a free 15 minute session via phone call to ensure you are happy to progress to next session.
