About me and my therapy practice
I am a fully qualified, experienced, BACP- registered psychotherapist providing a safe, supportive space to help you feel heard and understood.You'll find me an attentive and patient listener, who'll work at your pace and help you to find your way through your challenges.
I work with people from all walks of life including;
-students & those who have just left education grappling with the complexities of life.
-those living with neurodivergence in themselves or others.
-women struggling at various transitions such as motherhood, relationship or career issues, divorce or menopause.
-men unsure of their role in today’s society or navigating relationship, family responsibilities & financial challenges.
-those facing bereavement, exploring sexuality or gripped by depression.
-those grappling with disordered eating
Practice description
I am a psychodynamic therapist and offer a warm, empathetic, and non-judgmental space to explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences. Sometimes we'll be talking about the difficulties you are facing right now, other times we might look into your past. Often the challenges you are dealing with now are linked to unconscious patterns rooted in your personal history. Making these links together can help you to better understand and navigate your life today.
I hold a Master’s-level Advanced Diploma in Contemporary Psychodynamic Psychotherapy & Counselling as well as a Diploma and Certificate from the highly regarded Counselling Foundation in Hertfordshire. I am now working towards accreditation.
Previously, I spent 17 years working as a BANT-registered Nutritional Therapist, supporting individuals to improve their health and wellbeing. This experience gave me insight into the relationship between nutrition, emotional wellbeing and disordered eating.
My first session
I offer an initial free 15 minute telephone consultation so we can briefly discuss what you're looking for from therapy and consider practicalities such as cost and timings. Please email me to arrange a phone call. After we have spoken by phone, we can then arrange an initial no-commitment session.
In our first session we will discuss further what has brought you to seek therapy and you can gain an understanding of what it would be like for us to work together. We will be able to explore whether my style of counselling is the best option for you at this time.
