About me and my therapy practice
Are most days leaving you exhausted ? ?Are you struggling with anxiety, stress, panic attacks, feeling overwhelmed all making relationships difficult ?
I work with people whose constant worry is making everyday life difficult. We will look at your thoughts, feelings and behaviours to gain a better understanding. You may still face challenges, but therapy will provide the tools so you'll respond with more calm and confidence. You will be able to talk freely here without worrying about judgement or criticism.
I have a special interest in working with adults who experienced difficult childhoods, this may be due to loss, grief, adoption or traumatic events.
As each and every one of us is unique I tailor my approach by drawing on different theoretical models to fit clients needs and I use my knowledge and wisdom to gain the best outcome for you.
I am a qualified and registered psychotherapist/counsellor trained to degree level with a specialism in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. (CBT).
Therapy can't erase the past, but it can change how it lives in you.
Practice description
I work with clients who have experienced loss, confusion, intense loneliness, guilt, shame, childhood issues, PTSD to name a few.
I often work with long term complex issues, but short term counselling is available and can be extremely beneficial for some people. Sometimes clients only need a couple of sessions to begin to notice a change for the better.
At times we can feel stuck or lose our direction and our pain can feel overwhelming. I believe we all hold the key to our own recovery, whatever difficulty we are facing, no matter how large or small.
I have experience working with childhood trauma and survivors of sexual abuse and have great awareness of the impact traumatic experiences can have on us.
Seeking help is a brave decision and I know it can cause anxiety just the very thought of therapy. So well done for taking that step. I offer a calm, non judgemental space where we can explore what you are experiencing now.
"You cant go back and change the beginning but you can start where you are and change the ending" - C.S. Lewis.
