Availability
I have some online availability on a Monday during the day, as well as some evening slots. These are for for young people or adults.
Sessions for children and young people (from 5 years+) can be arranged within school (by prior agreement). This would need to be within the locality of High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire.
Please contact me for further information.
Each 50-minute session costs £60.00, payable by bank transfer prior to the session starting. Once I have received this, it confirms your appointment.
I offer a one off, free 20-minute introductory session prior to any paid appointments, to ensure we are both happy to work together and to talk through any queries you might have. For younger children this can involve meeting with parents as well.
I have some limited availability for concessions, available for those facing financial difficulty and this can be discussed on an individual basis if required. Concessionary places are limited to two clients, at any one time.
For primary age clients in school, each 30-minute session costs £40.00. This includes travel and resources.
About me and my therapy practice
Understand your past. Shape your future.
I recognise that at times, life can be difficult to navigate.
Sometimes people can benefit from having a space to stop and explore, process and make sense of what has happened or is happening for them. One experience, or a build-up of lots of thing’s overtime can feel overwhelming and make it more challenging to cope day to day. This can affect you in lots of ways.
I can offer a regular, confidential space online, to talk through whatever is on your mind. I recognise the importance of people’s mental health and the value of feeling heard, being able to have a voice and set boundaries.
Whether you are living with anxiety, processing trauma, mourning a loss, navigating relationships, or simply feeling overwhelmed, I offer a place where you can be heard and where your experiences matter.
I have a level five Diploma in working with children and young people from 5-18 years, alongside my Diploma in Therapeutic counselling. This enables me to support children and young people in primary and secondary schools, as well as adults.
For children and young people: I offer work within schools, and would be happy to discuss the possibility of seeing your primary age child within their school environment, with prior agreement. This is dependant on locality. I work within the High Wycombe area. Primary school sessions are for up to 30 minutes in total.
For teens or adults, I can offer regular weekly or fortnightly sessions of up to 50 minutes, via an online platform called Zoom. This can be for either short, or longer-term work, which can be more open ended.
Working online can support people to access counselling in a way which feels safe, accessible and appropriate for them.
We will regularly review our work together to ensure that we are both comfortable and that the sessions remain helpful.
Practice description
There are lots of different types of counselling and finding one which meets your needs can feel daunting.
I work in a person-centred way, which means that I place great value on you, and the way you view things. By tuning into this, it supports our relationship. This enables you to feel more comfortable in exploring some of the things which are bothering you, without fear of judgement.
Our working relationship is key to this, so it is important that we both feel comfortable in working together and agreeing professional boundaries. Part of this may involve some psychoeducation, helping you to learn about your mental health and well-being and this can be done through talking, as well as using tools to support our work, which help us to explore different aspects of your life.
With children and young people in person, this will often involve some creative opportunities and games, alongside talking to help them feel at ease.
I won't be offering advice. I recognise that you are the expert when it comes to your life – so I will happily explore concerns with you, supporting you in coming to your own decisions, which is often far more powerful than when someone tells you what to do.
My first session
I offer free introductory session of 20 minutes to explain how the counselling sessions work, and to make sure we feel comfortable in working together.
This is an opportunity for you to ask any questions you may have.
For children and young people, this may be an opportunity for your parents to join us, so that they too can ask questions which will later support our work together. This could be something such as agreeing to ensure you are offered a private space in which to meet each week, where you will not be disturbed.
The first session may feel a little different to the others. There will be some logistical things to sort out, such as what it is you are hoping for from the sessions, what might happen online if the connection is lost, or should you feel unwell. There may also be some questions which I have to start with, which will help me in understanding how best to support you.
Our work together will be regularly reviewed to ensure we are both happy and focussing on what is most important for you.
