About me and my therapy practice

Mens mental health is worryingly under-represented, misunderstood, and often just ignored. I want to support as many men as I can, help to nurture their inner monologue and support them in finally being able to be open and honest about what it's like being them. A supportive presence can be enough to change your whole perspective.

This is why I've dedicated my therapeutic work to supporting men.

Under 18's Sit down therapy:
Our young men have it harder than ever before, and with the confusing and conflicting messages that bombard them, it's no wonder they can often feel lost and unsure of how they feel or how to express how they feel.

I facilitate a space for them to safely explore their own world, without the external pressures that tell them what they can and cannot feel. This is a unique experience, one that allows them to discover who they are, what's important for them and how to express themselves, whilst leading the sessions at their own pace.

Sit down sessions are also available for adults.

Mens Walk & Talk:
We all know how beneficial walking can be for us, both psychologically and physiologically and the same is true for therapy, so the power of both blended into one cannot be understated. Walking in nature is a cleansing experience which allows you to let go of stresses, even if only for an hour, whilst therapy is often an explorative experience which allows you to delve into many aspects of your life which is why the combination of both is so potent. This is especially true when you learn to embrace what the world throws at you, which is why sessions with me continue in rain or shine.

Online:
Sometimes finding the time to attend therapy in person feels impossible, especially with the busy lives we all live, and with all the other priorities fighting for their place, therapy can fall to the wayside. This is where online therapy becomes useful, with the same quality of sessions being offered in the comfort and convenience of your own home.

I hope to see you soon.

Practice description

I practice primarily using two psychological approaches, Person Centered Therapy (PCT) and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT). These two approaches allows for a unique therapeutic experience.

Person centred therapy allows you to ease into therapy by exploring your issues at your own pace. This non-abrasive approach consists of discovering who you are, what is important to you and the reasons behind it all. This is the backbone of the therapeutic journey.

CBT is a practical and technically driven theory that allows for a more hands on approach to your own thoughts and behaviours. Using proven techniques you'll explore your irrational beliefs and challenge your thoughts, allowing you to change your behaviours.

Using both approaches allows for a tailored experience. Whether you want a slower, more relaxed experience, or a more direct and motivational approach, I can tailor the sessions for you whilst also catering your preference for indoor or outdoor sessions.

My first session

Before your first session, we will have a free 20 minute introductory call in order for me to answer any questions you may have, whilst also allowing for you to get a sense of the type of therapist I am.

Your first session will go however you want it to. Want to explore your entire life, discuss a specific past life event, explore current stresses, or want me to ask you questions? It's your session and therefore your choice.
