About me and my therapy practice
Do you feel like parts of your past, perhaps a loss, a difficult family dynamic or things that were never quite said, are still quietly shaping how you relate to others or see yourself today? You're not alone, and it doesn't have to stay that way.
I am an integrative psychotherapist working with adults navigating grief, loss, trauma and the lasting impact of difficult early experiences.
Much of my work focuses on how childhood loss, emotional neglect or disrupted attachment can shape our relationships, our sense of identity and our emotional wellbeing long into adulthood, often resurfacing in new ways during times of change. I also work with the anxiety, low mood and low self-esteem that so often accompany these experiences.
I have a particular interest in supporting people through life's transitions, whether that's bereavement, a change in health, a shifting family role, or the kind of midlife questioning about meaning, purpose and working out what is next.
I also welcome working with men, many of whom arrive unsure whether therapy is really "for them," and find real value in offering a space where they can be honest about what they're carrying.
Therapy with me is about understanding yourself more fully, and using that clarity to make real choices about how you want to move forward, rather than simply repeating old patterns.
I hold an MA in Integrative Psychotherapy & Counselling and have experience from working within the NHS and mental health charities. Before training as a psychotherapist, I spent almost 20 years in the corporate legal world across the UK and Europe.
If you would like to ask a question or arrange an initial conversation, please get in touch. I offer a free 20-minute consultation, giving you space to decide whether working together feels right.
Practice description
As an integrative therapist, I draw on a range of psychotherapeutic approaches depending on what each client needs, staying informed by current research in neurobiology and attachment, as well as developments in trauma-informed practice.
The core of my approach is psychodynamic thinking, influenced by ACT and solution-focused therapy. The relationships and experiences we had growing up often shape how we see ourselves, how we relate to others, and what we believe is possible for us as adults. Understanding these patterns can be hugely helpful, but it does not mean being defined or limited by them. Together we explore how your past shows up in your present, while focusing on the choices available to you now.
I also work with an understanding that behaviours often serve a purpose we do not immediately recognise. What looks like anxiety, addiction or self-destructive patterns may actually be ways of coping, managing trauma, regulating an overwhelmed nervous system, or navigating neurodivergence. Rather than labelling these responses as problems, we explore what they are trying to tell us about what you genuinely need, and find a more sustainable way forward.
My first session
The first session as an opportunity for us to get to know one another and for you to experience what it is like to work with me.
We will explore your reasons for coming to therapy and discuss how we might work together. I may ask some questions about your family, relationships, work and current circumstances. You are always invited to share only what feels comfortable.
I offer both short and longer term therapy with weekly sessions at an agreed time. Sessions are 50 minutes, with a 48-hour cancellation policy. The number of sessions will depend on your individual needs, wants and circumstances.
