About me and my therapy practice
At some points in our lives, particularly during midlife or periods of significant transition, we may feel overwhelmed, anxious, stuck or quietly unsettled. We may be navigating professional responsibilities, relationship difficulties, ageing parents, childhood or more recent bereavement, struggle with low self-esteem or the impact of trauma or emotional neglect, all while appearing to cope on the surface.
I specialise in working with adults who find themselves at crossroads shaped by change, loss and identity shifts. Despite a strong desire for change, they feel lost and stuck. They may be experiencing anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, loss, identity concerns, relationship difficulties, family issues and work related stress.
My clients might appear to cope well with life’s demands, yet privately feel anxious, overwhelmed or uncertain about the direction their life is taking.Therapy can offer a space to slow down, reflect and make sense of what is happening beneath the surface.
I bring warmth, thoughtful and honest reflection, and an interactive style. Having the support of someone outside your usual world can help you recognise patterns, process what is happening and gain clarity about how to move forward.
Not sure where to begin? Please get in touch. I offer a free 20 minute introductory video call to experience how it feels to spend time together and during which I am happy to answer any questions about starting therapy.
Practice description
I hold an MA in Integrative Psychotherapy & Counselling and have worked within the NHS and mental health charities. As an integrative therapist, I am trained in a range of psychotherapeutic approaches. This allows me to work holistically and tailor my way of working to fit your specific needs, recognising that each person’s experiences and challenges are unique.
Before training as a psychotherapist, I worked in the corporate legal world across Europe, an experience that informs my understanding of professional pressure and high-responsibility roles. Originally from Sweden and now living in London with 3 teenage children, I also bring an appreciation for cultural identity, family pressure and transition. These combined experiences give me a deep appreciation for stress, resilience and the emotional demands of modern life.
My practice is founded on the belief that the therapeutic relationship is central to meaningful change. Research consistently shows that successful outcomes are strongly linked to the quality of the therapeutic alliance. I therefore prioritise creating a space that feels psychologically safe, steady and collaborative. I offer a 20-minute introductory call to experience what it is like to work with me.
As an integrative trauma-informed psychotherapist, I draw on psychodynamic, relational and existential approaches to explore how earlier experiences shape present patterns. I recognise the deep connection between mind and body, and the ways in which trauma and emotional experiences are often held physically.
Alongside deeper relational and trauma-informed work, I draw on solution-focused and CBT-informed approaches when helpful. My integrative approach allows me to tailor sessions to your unique needs, combining exploration, reflection and practical tools to support meaningful and lasting change.
My first session
Many people wonder what it might be like to come to therapy. I view the first session as an opportunity for us to get to know one another and for you to experience what it is like to work with me. Feeling comfortable and safe is central to effective therapy, and it is important that you feel able to choose a therapist who feels right for you.
During the first session, we will explore your reasons for coming to therapy and discuss how we might work together. I may ask some questions about your family, relationships, work and current circumstances. You are always invited to share only what feels comfortable. This helps build an understanding of your background and the context for our work together.
This session includes time to review the therapy agreement, which I will share in advance so that you can read and reflect. You are welcome to ask any questions about the process, boundaries or practical arrangements.
I offer weekly sessions at an agreed time. Sessions are 50 minutes, with a 48-hour cancellation policy. The number of sessions will depend on your individual needs and circumstances.
