About me and my therapy practice
Counselling is a space just for you, a place to pause, reflect, and explore thoughts, feelings, and experiences without pressure or judgement. It’s not about being told what to do, but about uncovering your own insights, gaining a deeper understanding of yourself, and making sense of your relationships with yourself and others. Each session is a chance to slow down, notice what matters most, and explore challenges or questions at your own pace.
The approach is shaped around what works best for each individual. Some find talking things through most helpful, others prefer structured approaches, and some benefit from creative tools to explore emotions and experiences. Sessions are flexible, guided by what feels right in the moment, offering support, understanding, and a safe environment to explore thoughts and feelings freely.
The aim is to build self-awareness, acceptance, and a clearer sense of direction, while recognising the uniqueness of each person’s journey. Every session focuses on providing a respectful, collaborative, and non-judgemental space where personal experiences are valued and explored with care.
Practice description
I’m Leanne, a Qualified Integrative Therapeutic Counsellor and BACP Registered Member. I provide personalised counselling for adults (18+) in a confidential and supportive environment. Counselling is not a one-size-fits-all process, each person’s journey is unique, and sessions can take different forms depending on your needs and what feels most helpful at the time. Some people benefit from traditional talking therapy, others from structured approaches, and some enjoy creative ways of exploring thoughts and feelings. The aim is to work in a way that fits your pace, your comfort, and your individual journey.
My approach is humanistic, drawing on a range of theories and methods to offer tailored support. Person-centered, Gestalt, and Transactional Analysis approaches provide a foundation for understanding experiences, relationships, and patterns, while tools from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) are used when helpful to explore thoughts, behaviours, and practical strategies. This integrative approach allows for flexibility so that sessions can adapt to what is meaningful and effective for you.
Sessions are offered online, by telephone, and face-to-face, providing flexibility to suit different lifestyles and circumstances. My practice is built on respect, collaboration, and recognising the individuality of every client. The counselling space is warm, safe, and non-judgemental, where experiences are listened to, feelings are valued, and personal insights are encouraged.
Counselling is about your journey, your pace, and your understanding. Support and guidance are offered to help explore challenges, discover new perspectives, and connect with your own strengths and resources, all in a safe, understanding environment.
