About me and my therapy practice
I believe in the power of therapeutic conversation and in building a trusting relationship to help clients feel clearer about themselves, their choices and underlying life patterns.
I hold a postgraduate diploma in psychotherapy and phenomenology, and I am a registered member of the British Association for Psychotherapy and Counselling. Previously, I was a Samaritans volunteer and a counsellor at Third Age Counselling in London. I continue to work as an advisor for a national domestic abuse charity whilst I am the assistant editor of the European Journal of Psychotherapy and Counselling. Alongside my private psychotherapy practice in London (Holborn) and Colchester, I remain in continued professional development through the Southern Association for Psychotherapy and Counselling.
Practice description
My practice is guided by existentialism, humanism, psychoanalysis, phenomenology but, above all, it is informed by my experience of sitting with different clients over the years as they try to make sense of their lives. I am used to dealing with a range of issues, such as anxiety, depression, loss, panic attacks, relationship breakdowns or feeling aimless. However, I ultimately believe that every client’s personal experience is unique. By tuning into what they tell me, I try to help them become more aware of underlying issues which shape their experience and relationships with others. In doing so, they may become better equipped to deal with their circumstances.
Psychotherapy can feel like a daunting step. If you would like to arrange a session or simply have a question to ask, please get in touch by phone or email. I welcome clients from all walks of life, from young adulthood through to older age.
