About me and my therapy practice
I am an accredited integrative counsellor offering a client-centred and reflective approach to therapy. I have experience working across mental health, education, and social care settings, supporting individuals facing a range of challenges, including anxiety, low mood, perinatal mental health difficulties, and significant life transitions.
My integrative approach draws on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Psychodynamic Therapy, and Person-Centred Therapy, allowing me to tailor sessions to your individual needs and experiences. I offer both short-term, focused work and longer-term therapy, depending on what feels most helpful for you.
I have particular experience in:
✔ Perinatal Mental Health – Supporting individuals experiencing severe pregnancy sickness, including hyperemesis gravidarum, and the emotional impact of pregnancy and early parenthood
✔ Emotional Wellbeing & Distress – Working with anxiety, low mood, and periods of overwhelm
✔ Life Transitions – Supporting clients through change, uncertainty, and adjustment
I work collaboratively, offering a safe and respectful space where you can feel heard and supported while working at a pace that feels right for you.
Practice description
I offer a safe, confidential, and supportive space where you can explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences without judgement. My approach is integrative and client-centred, which means I adapt the way we work together to suit your individual needs, rather than applying a one-size-fits-all approach.
In our sessions, you will have the opportunity to reflect on what is bringing you to therapy, whether that is feeling overwhelmed, experiencing anxiety or low mood, navigating a life transition, or trying to make sense of your experiences. I aim to create a calm and consistent space where you can feel heard, understood, and supported.
Depending on your needs, we may work in a more structured, short-term way focused on a specific issue, or in a more open-ended way, allowing for deeper exploration over time. Throughout our work, I will support you in developing greater self-awareness, clarity, and confidence in how you respond to challenges in your life.
Starting therapy can feel like a big step, and it’s important that you feel comfortable with the person you choose to work with. I welcome any questions you may have and encourage you to get in touch to explore whether we might be a good fit.
My first session
Before beginning therapy, I offer a free initial consultation of up to 30 minutes. This is an opportunity for us to have an informal conversation about what has brought you to counselling and what you hope to gain from the process.
During this call, I may ask a few gentle questions to gain an understanding of your current situation and what support you are looking for. It is also a space for you to ask any questions about how I work and to get a sense of whether we feel like a good fit for one another. There is no obligation to continue after this call, and I encourage you to take the time you need to decide what feels right for you.
If you choose to move forward, our first full session will provide a more in-depth space to explore your experiences, identify areas of focus, and begin shaping the direction of our work together. We will also discuss how we might work, whether that is in a short-term, focused way or over a longer period of time.
I aim to create a calm, supportive environment where you can begin to find a sense of rhythm in the work, moving at a pace that feels comfortable and manageable for you.
