About me and my therapy practice
There are times in life when the path ahead feels unclear, when things feel heavy, uncertain, or difficult to put into words. Quiet Path Counselling offers a calm and reflective space where you can pause, gather your thoughts, and begin to make sense of what you are carrying.
I am a person-centred counsellor and the founder of Quiet Path Counselling. Alongside my counselling work, I have over 20 years’ experience as a Clinical Nurse Specialist in the NHS, currently working in palliative care. I support people living with cancer and other life-limiting illnesses, as well as their families, giving me a deep understanding of grief, loss, uncertainty, and the emotional challenges that life can bring. I bring this empathy, steadiness, and presence into my counselling practice.
I work with adults experiencing anxiety, low mood, stress, bereavement, life transitions, relationship difficulties, or a sense of being stuck. Rather than telling you what to do, I create a space where you can reflect safely, connect with your emotions, and rediscover your own inner resources. My aim is to support you in finding your own path forward in a way that feels manageable, authentic, and meaningful for you
Quiet Path Counselling is a place to pause, reflect, and discover your own way forward, with support, understanding, and respect.
Practice description
I provide a safe, supportive place to talk, at your pace, in your own way.
Quiet Path Counselling offers confidential sessions where you can speak freely without fear of judgement. You decide what feels important to bring, and we work through it together.
I will listen carefully and help you make sense of your thoughts and emotions. My role is not to tell you what to do, but to support you in gaining clarity, self-understanding and confidence in your own decisions.
I offer counselling for adults, both face-to-face and online. Whether you are facing a specific difficulty or simply feel that something isn’t right, you are welcome.
I am a fully qualified counsellor with a level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling. I am a Registered member of the BACP, and my work is guided by the BACP Ethical Framework, meaning I practise safely, ethically and with respect for your confidentiality and wellbeing.
Quiet Path Counselling is about walking beside you as you find your own path, in your own time.
My first session
Taking the first step towards counselling can feel uncertain. You may be feeling nervous, hopeful, or unsure what to expect. At Quiet Path Counselling, the first session is simply a space to pause and begin.
Our initial meeting is an opportunity to talk about what has brought you here and what feels important in your life right now. There is no pressure to have the “right words” or a clear plan. You are welcome just as you are.
We will also go through practical details such as confidentiality and how we might work together, creating a sense of safety and clarity from the outset.
The first session is not an assessment to pass or a commitment to continue. It is a chance for you to sense whether you feel comfortable, heard and able to speak openly with me. The therapeutic relationship is central to my work, and it is important that it feels right for you.
If you choose to continue, we can agree on a pace that feels manageable and supportive. If not, that is completely respected.
My hope is that you leave the first session feeling a little lighter, clearer, and reassured that you do not have to walk your path alone.
