About me and my therapy practice
Hello, my name is Zaharin. You may call me Zah.
I believe counselling offers a unique human connection that everyday life often doesn't—a truly safe space to experience your most difficult emotions. Whether you are struggling with a sense of "not being good enough," navigating ADHD, or feeling stuck in a corporate career, I am here to support you in uncovering the quiet insights that empower you to move forward (whatever that may look like for you)
In our sessions, we will gently shift old patterns at a pace that feels right for you. I have worked with clients who began by saying, "I don't believe in counselling," only to find profound relief in finally being seen and heard. I have experience working with those experiencing overwhelming emotions, and I truly get how incredibly difficult it can be to allow yourself to feel them—especially for the very first time. I appreciate the immense courage it takes to do that.
My Journey and Approach
My path started in the corporate world as a mental health first aider, but it became a passion when I finally allowed myself to grieve for my Mum. Experiencing that vulnerable moment in therapy taught me the profound power of being "held" through pain. Today, I use an integrative approach—combining Person-Centred, CBT, Psychodynamic, and Existential perspectives—to meet you exactly where you are.
Practice description
My Areas of Focus
I support adults and children navigating:
- Grief and Loss: Processing bereavement or major life changes (loved ones, passions, or jobs).
- Self-Worth: Shifting from "I'm not enough" to "I value myself."
- Anxiety and Stress: Managing the pressures of work and life.
- ADHD Support: Navigating the unique challenges on living with ADHD
- Depression and feeling stuck
- Sexual Abuse
The Transformation
What fulfils me as a therapist is witnessing my clients' transformations: shifting from "I am never good enough" to proudly realising, "I didn’t know I could do it!". It's also a priviledge to see shifts in clients trust from "I don’t want to go there" to the relief of "I am so glad I shared this."
My Promise to You
If you choose to trust me as your therapist, know that I will do my absolute best to hold you while you process your most difficult emotions. I will share your journey with you as you gently use the insights you gain to shift old behaviours or thought patterns. I will wholeheartedly support you as you bravely give yourself a corrective experience—perhaps becoming the parent you never had, or always wished you were, to yourself.
My first session
I offer a free initial session, which is a great opportunity for us to see if we are a good fit for each other, without any obligation.
This is done via a telephone call or video (I can send a client video link)
