About me and my therapy practice
As an Integrative Counsellor, I draw on a range of therapeutic approaches to tailor therapy to your individual needs. Rather than working from a single model, I integrate different theories and techniques to create a personalised way of working that supports your unique experiences, goals, and pace.
My approach is grounded in building a safe, confidential, and non-judgemental space where you can explore your thoughts and feelings openly. I may incorporate elements of person-centred therapy, psychodynamic understanding, and cognitive or behavioural strategies, depending on what feels most helpful for you.
Practice description
I run a small private practice in a comfortable and welcoming setting, offering a calm and confidential space for therapy.
I aim to be flexible with working hours wherever possible, recognising that individual circumstances and commitments vary.
I offer both short-term work (typically 6–12 sessions) and open-ended counselling. We would regularly review our work together to ensure it continues to meet your needs, tailoring the pace and focus of therapy according to your personal circumstances and goals.
My first session
I offer a free 20-minute telephone consultation to discuss your individual needs and expectations, and to explore how we might work together. This initial conversation gives us an opportunity to consider what the counselling contract would look like, including practical arrangements, boundaries, and mutual commitments.
We can also discuss any potential barriers to attending sessions, explore limitations, and consider how we can both commit to the therapeutic process in a way that feels realistic and supportive.
This consultation allows you to ask questions, gain a sense of how I work, and decide whether I am the right counsellor for you. It also begins the foundation of the therapeutic relationship, supporting the development of trust, clarity, and shared understanding, with the aim of achieving the best possible outcome for you.
