About me and my therapy practice

Practice description

About My Practice:

Taking the first step into therapy can feel daunting. I offer a warm, safe, and confidential space where you can talk without fear of being judged.

My goal is to help you understand your thoughts, emotions and feelings. Together, we will explore what is holding you back and find a way forward that feels right for you. I will create a safe non judgemental space, where you can share your worries, fears, or past experiences openly at your pace. I'll listen carefully and ask gentle questions to help you see things clearly and if we need to I can help you build tools to help you cope with daily life.

I use a counselling technique / modality called Psychosynthesis which is an integrative, person-centered approach that focuses on wholeness, human growth, and your highest potential. It looks at the human experience through a psychological lens that embraces your past, your present, and who you are yet to become. Together we will seek to find your own answers to the questions you may have. We will start with an initial consultation. This is a chance for us to meet. You can ask questions, and we can see if we feel like a good fit to work together. I work with adults experiencing a range of challenges, including: anxiety and stress, low mood and depression, relationship difficulties, life transitions and change, a sense of identity, loss and grief.

My first session

What to expect from our first session:

Our first session together is a structured opportunity for us to get to know each other and see how we can work together. Starting counselling can feel daunting, so I focus on creating a comfortable, grounded, and conversational environment. During this initial meeting, we will use a well-being questionnaire as a practical guide. This helps us look at different areas of your life without you feeling the pressure to figure out where to start. Together, we will use this questionnaire to explore: Your current situation: What specific challenges, patterns, or stressors brought you to therapy today? Your personal history: A brief overview of your background, relationships, and any previous support you have had. Your goals: What you hope to gain from counselling and what positive changes you want to see. My approach, I am trained as a psychosynthesis counsellor. While the name sounds complex, the practice is very practical. It simply means that while we will look at your past struggles and current difficulties, we will also focus on your strengths, your potential and where you want to go next. We don't just look at what is "wrong"; we look at who you are beneath your current challenges and help you map out a clearer path forward. By the end of this first session, you will have a good sense of how I work, and we will collaborate on a plan tailored to your specific needs.
