About me and my therapy practice
My name is Sam and I am a BACP registered counsellor with a training in Humanistic and Integrative therapy. I would ideally encourage client sessions to be Face-to-Face. If this is not possible then it is important to know that remote counselling can also work very well.
As well as working in private practice, I work at my local hospice with bereaved clients and clients facing life limiting illnesses. Additionally, I work at a sixth form college with students who need extra support for issues ranging from anxiety and depression, dealing with complex relationships, and self-esteem issues. I work with a client to make sense of unhealthy coping mechanisms, whilst exploring alternative ways of coping that feel supportive.
Committing to counselling is I believe, the first important step towards being able to become unstuck and process feelings around various issues or curveballs that we as human beings experience in life. I believe that counselling can facilitate internal shifts from within, which can lead to new beliefs, by exploring feelings, in an honest, empathic, and non-judgemental relationship. My role is to support you, be alongside you, and move at your pace, as you decide the direction in which you would like your life to go and how you might like to experience your life in new ways.
Practice description
I work in a counselling room in North Chailey close to both Lewes and Haywards Heath.
My first session
I first offer a free 15 minutes telephone consultation with you and then offer an introductory assessment session at a reduced rate to discuss how best I can support you.
