Availability
I currently have availability in my practice and try to be as flexible as possible.
My working days are Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, so please do enquire about a day and time that suits you and we can go from there.
I offer a limited number of concessionary spaces for those on low income or for students. So please do ask if this would be helpful to you and I can see if I have any concessionary spaces available.
About me and my therapy practice
Are you dealing with stress, anxiety, depression, or simply looking for a space to reflect and grow?
Are you finding life overwhelming or something has happened that is making life feel hard to deal with? Then let me help you.
I work with clients to support them through difficult periods in their lives, offering a non-judgemental and truly authentic space that helps them move forward more easily.
By providing a nurturing space where you can safely talk through anything you would like to make sense of, I find that my clients are able to comfortably open up to me.
By working together to bring the puzzle pieces of your life together, my goal is to help you to feel more equipped to deal with anything that comes your way.
How it Works:
Depending on your location I can work with you online, or I offer walk and talk therapy on private land in Mid-Devon.
Walk and talk therapy takes you outside the traditional therapy room and into nature, without losing the sense of connection. In fact, the blend of physical activity and nature’s calming influence can make it easier for you to open up and gain fresh perspectives.
There are also spaces to sit and talk during our session, so you can have the best of both worlds.
I am also a Shinrin-Yoku (forest bathing) guide, so I can include some nature mindfulness practices in your session if you’d find that helpful.
Forest bathing isn’t just about ‘tree hugging’ – it is about being mindful in nature, attuning to your senses and truly noticing your surroundings. Essentially, by discovering the healing power of nature, forest bathing can help calm your mind and soothe your nervous system.
Experience:
I work with clients 18+ all the way through to elderly clients and have experience of working with anxiety, grief, trauma, dyslexia, ADHD, abandonment, childlessness not by choice, miscarriage and estrangement, as well as a range of day to day issues.
Practice description
Walk & Talk - EX17
My practice is based in Mid-Devon, where I live and has access to ten acres of beautiful land, made up of meadows, a wood and apple orchard - all with a stream flowing through.
There is a main courtyard with plenty of free parking, where you can park and take time to settle. There is also a loo available and I would recommend you arrive about five to ten minutes before your session starts.
I will come out to meet you at the time of your session and we'll begin wandering the land as you talk. We can stop whenever needed, or sit in one of the many peaceful spots to chat.
If you have a well behaved dog, you are welcome to bring them to your session if this would help you feel more comfortable. However, please discuss this with me beforehand to ensure it would be suitable to bring your dog along.
*Please note that the land is also home to two holiday cottages, so from time to time you may see some guests about. However, they're aware that the land is also used for counselling sessions and won't approach us during your time with me.
Online:
For online sessions, I work from a peaceful room, ensuring our sessions feel safe, secure, and free from interruptions.
My first session
I offer a free, 15 minute, no-obligation introductory call, during which we can discuss what you hope to gain from your counselling sessions. This also gives us the opportunity to see if we are a good fit for each other.
At the start of your first session, we will take some time to go through the contract, which I will have already sent to you by email. We will discuss the main points, including confidentiality and then both sign it.
If we are working online, we can digitally sign this and I will send you a signed copy via email.
The rate for our first session is the same as for subsequent sessions: £50 per hour, or £40 if you have one of my concessionary spaces. Each session is based on a 'clinical hour', which is fifty minutes.
