About me and my therapy practice
Hello my name is Henna and I am a qualified counsellor in private practice. I work from a psycho-spiritual place and holistic framework, integrating both traditional therapeutic tools and creative tools to support each client’s unique needs.
I am deeply committed to working collaboratively with my clients, intentionally naming and softening power dynamics, which allows clients to reclaim and maintain their autonomy during sessions. This, in turn, allows for the creation of a space where clients feel grounded, honoured, empowered, and in control of their therapeutic journey.
I believe in providing a compassionate, non-judgemental, and safe space where individuals feel seen, heard, and understood. My practice honours the whole person — heart, body and soul — I take a holistic approach that integrates emotional, somatic, and cognitive awareness in order to facilitate whole-person healing.
Practice description
I have experience supporting diverse communities from a variety of cultural backgrounds, and cultural sensitivity and an understanding of cultural nuances are central to my therapeutic work. I also have experience working with neurodivergent individuals and offer neuro-affirming, person-centred support.
I prioritise cultivating a practice that welcomes and supports people from all walks of life. Inclusivity in all its forms is deeply important to me, as is providing therapy that remains affordable and accessible to all.
Central to my practice is the belief that every client’s experience is individual and deserving of bespoke therapeutic care, grounded in the understanding that no two people are the same.
I have worked with a wide range of issues including anxiety, depression, trauma, various forms of abuse, sexual identity and conflict of faith, relationship issues and bereavement
I have worked closely and actively with grief and bereavement, with 5 years of experience in Hospice care. I also host and facilitate monthly Death Cafés within the Muslim community. The death cafes have provided women the opportunity to come together to speak about death, dying, and grief in a safe, gentle, communal space, while providing therapeutic tools to aid them in their grief journey.
My approach is grounded in compassion, presence, and cultural sensitivity. My aim is to support clients in navigating their challenges, reconnecting with their authentic self, and facilitating a space where clients feel truly heard and seen.
My first session
Therapeutic compatibility is important to me. I offer an initial free 15-minute phone call where we can explore whether I am the right fit for you and whether you feel comfortable working with me. Feeling safe, supported, and aligned with your therapist is paramount to your therapeutic journey.
This initial conversation provides an opportunity for you to ask questions, share a little about yourself, and discuss what you are seeking from the therapeutic space. If we both feel it is a good fit, I will email you an assessment form to complete, after which we can discuss start dates and pricing.
Accessibility is an important value in my practice. I believe therapy should be financially accessible, and I therefore offer concessional rates and a sliding-scale fee structure which can also be discussed during your initial assessment.
