Hi, I’m a trauma-informed, neurodiversity-affirming counsellor based in Cornwall, offering in-person sessions in Redruth and Falmouth, and online or telephone therapy across the UK.
About me and my therapy practice
Does life feel more like survival than living?
You might be getting through the day, but not really living. Your head is busy all the time. Your body never fully settles. You keep going because you have to, but it is taking more out of you than it used to.
You might look alright from the outside, but inside you feel overwhelmed, worn down, or stuck in your own head. You may be relying on ways of coping that helped at one time, but now they are starting to worry you.
This might show up as struggling in busy places, feeling drained by noise, crowds, or social contact, or needing to shut the world out just to cope.
Past trauma can still show up. Certain tones, places, or moments can hit you suddenly, like your body is back there again, even when part of you knows you are safe.
Switching off can become a problem. Scrolling, drinking, drugs, porn, gambling, or comfort eating can feel like the only off switch, but afterwards you feel worse.
Your emotions may feel all over the place. Low one day, irritable or angry the next, then numb after that. Hard to explain. Easy to feel misunderstood.
A lot of people wait until things feel like a crisis before they reach out. They have been holding it together for a long time, and therapy can feel like it might open the floodgates.
That is why we do not rush it. We go at your pace and start with what feels manageable.
I offer online or telephone therapy across the UK, with in person options in Cornwall. I also offer a free initial consultation so you can see whether I feel like the right fit.
Practice description
Therapy with me is practical, paced, and human. We focus on what is actually happening in your day to day life, not just talking in circles or using complicated language.
Together, we look at what is going on underneath the surface, what sets things off, what keeps the same patterns going, and why certain situations hit so hard.
We build coping tools you can actually use. This might include grounding, emotional regulation, or small steps between sessions that help life feel more manageable week to week.
We can also work on boundaries, masking, self worth, and the pressure to keep it together, so you are not carrying everything alone.
I know what it is like to look like you are coping on the outside while struggling underneath, and to use ways of coping you are not proud of because you do not know what else to do. Therapy can be a place to stop pretending and start making sense of things.
I have a specialist interest in supporting people with trauma, including CPTSD, as well as autism, ADHD, addiction and recovery, and men’s mental health. These are often misunderstood, which can leave people feeling judged, dismissed, or alone.
My approach is grounded and straight talking, focused on what actually helps in real life. Before retraining as a therapist, I worked in construction, and I bring that down to earth style into the room.
I am a qualified MBACP counsellor and psychotherapist with a BSc (Hons) in Counselling and Psychotherapy, and I continue to develop my practice through ongoing professional development.
If you are unsure about therapy, that is completely normal. A free initial consultation gives you space to ask questions and see whether working together feels right.
My first session
Your first session is a chance to slow things down and begin making sense of what has been happening. We will talk about what is bringing you to therapy, what you are finding hardest right now, and what you would like to be different. You do not need to have the right words. You can bring whatever you have, and we will work it out together at your pace.
We will also agree how we will work together, including boundaries, confidentiality, and what you can expect from sessions. If it helps, you are welcome to start with a free initial consultation before booking a first session, so you can ask questions and decide whether I am the right therapist for you.

About me and my therapy practice
When life feels like too much
People come to me when they are getting through the day but not really living, feeling overwhelmed, stuck in their heads, or relying on coping habits that are starting to worry them.
Often, they have been holding things together for a long time, but it is getting harder to keep going in the same way. This might show up as:
Busy places feel like hard work. Crowds, noise, bright lights, queues, or lots of social contact can leave you drained and needing to shut the world out.
Past trauma can still show up. Certain tones, places, or moments can hit you suddenly, like your body is back there again, even when you know you are safe.
Switching off is starting to worry you. Scrolling, drinking, drugs, porn, gambling, or comfort eating can feel like the only off switch, then you feel worse afterwards.
Your emotions feel complicated. Low, irritable, angry, then numb, leaving you feeling misunderstood or “too much.”
A safe place to begin
Many people reach out when things start to feel like a crisis. They have often been holding it together for a long time, and therapy can feel like it might open the floodgates.
We keep things steady. We go at your pace and start with what feels manageable.
Sessions are one hour a week. I offer online or telephone therapy across the UK, with in person options in Cornwall. You can also book a free initial consultation.
I have a specialist interest in supporting people with trauma, including CPTSD, as well as autism, ADHD, addiction and recovery, and men’s mental health. These are often misunderstood and can leave people feeling judged, dismissed, or alone.

Why work with me
Therapy with me is practical, paced, and human. We focus on what is happening in your day to day life, not just talking in circles.
We look at what is going on beneath the surface, what sets things off, what keeps the cycle going, and how your mind and body respond when it all feels too much.
We build coping tools you can actually use, including grounding, emotional regulation, and simple steps between sessions.
We work on boundaries, masking, self worth, and the pressure to keep it together, so you can stop carrying everything alone and live in a way that fits you.
I know what it is like to keep going on the outside while struggling underneath, and to cope in ways you are not proud of because you do not know what else to do. Therapy can be a place to reset, without having to pretend you are fine.
My approach
My approach is grounded and straight talking, focused on what helps in real life. I previously worked in construction and bring that down to earth style into the room.
I am a qualified MBACP counsellor and psychotherapist with a BSc (Hons) in Counselling and Psychotherapy, and I keep my practice current through ongoing professional development.
What clients say
Clients often say they feel clearer and less overwhelmed over time. The noise in the mind settles, the body feels calmer, and things start to feel more manageable day to day.
Many describe the sessions as calm, practical, and easy to talk in, helping them open up, understand themselves, and feel more like themselves again.
Next step
If you would like to take the next step, you are welcome to get in touch for a free initial consultation. It is a chance to talk things through and see whether working together feels right.
