About me and my therapy practice

I am a Psychodynamic Psychotherapist with a PhD in Educational Psychology and an MA in Psychoanalytic Studies from Birkbeck, University of London. I offer psychotherapy for adults and couples seeking a deeper understanding of emotional difficulties, relationship patterns, identity, anxiety, loss, and recurring internal conflicts.

My approach is grounded in psychodynamic and psychoanalytic thinking, with a focus on the unconscious emotional patterns that shape the way we experience ourselves and others. Therapy offers a reflective and confidential space to explore aspects of experience that may feel confusing, painful, or difficult to articulate, often rooted in earlier relationships and emotional histories.

I work collaboratively and thoughtfully, recognising that each person’s inner world is unique. Some clients come to therapy during periods of crisis or transition, while others are seeking a deeper sense of meaning, self-understanding, or emotional change. I aim to create an atmosphere where difficult feelings can be explored safely and without judgment.

Alongside psychotherapy, my background in Educational Psychology allows me to support parents who are struggling with educational and emotional challenges related to their children, including school-related difficulties, behavioural concerns, emotional regulation, family dynamics, and developmental transitions.

I have over a decade of experience in psychotherapy and work with clients from diverse cultural and personal backgrounds. Alongside online therapy, I offer in-person sessions on Shirland Road in Maida Vale, close to Little Venice and Paddington Station.

I offer both short-term and open-ended psychotherapy, depending on each client’s needs.

Practice description

In my practice, I offer a reflective, confidential, and emotionally attuned space where clients can explore thoughts, feelings, relationship patterns, and inner conflicts at their own pace. My work is grounded in psychodynamic and psychoanalytic psychotherapy, with a focus on understanding the unconscious emotional patterns and relational experiences that shape present difficulties.

I work with adults and couples experiencing anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, identity struggles, emotional distress, self-esteem issues, loss, and periods of transition or uncertainty. Together, we explore how earlier experiences, internal conflicts, and unconscious dynamics may continue to influence current ways of relating, feeling, and coping.

I believe that meaningful therapeutic work develops through a thoughtful and trusting therapeutic relationship. My approach is collaborative, compassionate, and deeply attentive to each person’s unique emotional world. Therapy is not only a space for symptom relief, but also an opportunity for deeper self-understanding, emotional growth, and lasting psychological change.

Alongside psychotherapy, my background and PhD in Educational Psychology allow me to support parents who are concerned about emotional, behavioural, and educational challenges affecting their children, including school-related difficulties, emotional regulation, family dynamics, and developmental transitions.

I offer both online and in-person psychotherapy sessions on Shirland Road in Maida Vale, close to Little Venice and Paddington Station. I work with clients from diverse cultural and personal backgrounds and offer therapy in both English and Persian (Farsi).

My first session

Before arranging a first session, I offer a free 15-minute introductory phone consultation. This gives us an opportunity to briefly discuss what brings you to therapy, any questions you may have, and whether working together feels like the right fit.

The first session is an opportunity to begin exploring your current difficulties, emotional experiences, relationships, and personal history in a thoughtful and confidential setting. Some clients come with a specific concern, while others may feel uncertain, overwhelmed, or emotionally stuck without fully knowing why.

Together, we will begin to think about what may be contributing to your difficulties and what you hope to gain from therapy.
