About me and my therapy practice
The Sunflower Practice – nurturing growth, embracing all minds
Hello, I’m Sammie (she/her), a qualified Humanistic Integrative Counsellor (MBACP) and neurodivergent therapist (AuDHD).
Maybe you’re feeling overwhelmed, misunderstood or exhausted from trying to keep up with what life seems to expect of you. Or perhaps you’re a parent or carer holding everything together with little space left.
You don’t have to have it all figured out before you come to therapy.
Who I work with
I work with neurodivergent adults including Autistic, ADHD and AuDHD adults, as well as people who are late-diagnosed or exploring their identity.
I also work with parents, carers and family members of neurodivergent children and young people. Supporting someone you love can bring its own mix of emotions and pressures. You deserve somewhere that is yours too.
You don’t need a formal diagnosis to access therapy. If you’re wondering whether you might be neurodivergent or trying to make sense of yourself through a different lens, there is space for that here.
How I work
My approach is warm, human and collaborative. Rather than trying to fix or change who you are, we can become curious about how you work, what has shaped you and what you need.
Therapy can be a space to explore overwhelm, burnout, sensory needs, relationships, boundaries, identity and communication.
There isn't a one-size-fits-all toolbox. Together, we can work out what supports you, at your pace and in a way that feels right for you.
You know yourself best. I bring my therapeutic knowledge and attention while we make sense of things together.
You don’t need to perform or have the right words. You can be wholeheartedly yourself.
Practicalities
I offer counselling online or in person in Ashley Cross, Poole, Dorset or Glastonbury, Somerset. Sessions are £55 and I offer a free 30-minute introductory call.
I’m happy to discuss reasonable adjustments to make therapy accessible.
Come as you are. This is your space.
Practice description
My approach is warm, human and collaborative. As a Humanistic Integrative Counsellor and neurodivergent therapist (AuDHD), I work with neurodivergent adults including Autistic, ADHD and AuDHD adults, as well as people who are late-diagnosed or exploring their neurodivergent identity.
I also work with parents, carers and family members of neurodivergent children and young people. Supporting someone you love can bring its own mix of emotions, challenges and pressures, and you deserve somewhere that is yours too.
You don’t need to have everything figured out before coming to therapy, and you don’t need a formal diagnosis to access support. We can explore whatever feels important to you, including:
* Anxiety, overwhelm and burnout
* Emotional regulation and sensory needs
* Relationships, boundaries and communication
* Identity, self-exploration and self-acceptance
* Feeling stuck, different or misunderstood
* Life transitions, change and difficult seasons
Rather than trying to fix or change who you are, we can become curious about how you work, what has shaped you and what you need. I bring my therapeutic knowledge and experience while you remain the expert on your own life.
There isn't a one-size-fits-all toolbox. We can work together to find what supports you, at your pace and in a way that feels right for you.
I’m also happy to discuss adaptations or reasonable adjustments that could make therapy more accessible.
I offer a free 30-minute introductory call so we can talk about what you’re looking for, answer any questions and see whether we feel like a good fit. Counselling is available online or in person in Ashley Cross, Poole, Dorset or Glastonbury, Somerset.
My first session
Free 30-minute introductory call
Before we begin therapy, we can have a free 30-minute introductory call. This is a chance to talk about what’s brought you here, what you’re looking for and any questions you might have. It’s also an opportunity for you to get a feel for me and how I work, and for us to see whether we feel like a good fit.
There’s no pressure to have everything figured out or to know exactly what you need from therapy. We can simply start where you are.
Your first session
Your first session is a chance to slow things down and begin making sense of what’s going on for you. We can talk about what has brought you to therapy, what life has been feeling like and anything you’d like us to explore.
I don’t use a rigid or one-size-fits-all assessment. Instead, we’ll have a collaborative conversation and take things at a pace that feels manageable for you. You can bring what feels important, whether you have lots to say, don’t quite know where to start or find it easier to communicate in a different way.
As a neurodivergent therapist, I understand that traditional therapy processes don’t always work well for everyone. We can make adjustments where needed so that you can access therapy in a way that feels right for you.
You don’t need to perform, have the right words or arrive with a neatly organised version of yourself. Just come as you are.
