About me and my therapy practice
In 2025 I completed a Level 5 Diploma in Somatic-Informed Trauma Therapy, which has deepened my understanding of the mind-body connection. This additional training has enabled me to work with clients in a different way, exploring different approaches to calming our nervous systems and dealing with stress and anxiety in a more holistic way.
I take an integrative, client-led approach and, where appropriate, bring psychoeducation into sessions. This simply means I’ll share tools and insights to help you make sense of your challenges and feel empowered to take control of your mental health.
I believe in supporting people to build the confidence and skills they need to navigate life’s ups and downs—because that’s where real change happens.
What I Offer:
A safe, empathetic space to explore life’s complex emotions, feelings, and worries
Online or phone sessions for clients who need the flexibility to connect from home
Psychoeducation and breathwork techniques to enhance understanding and build resources for your journey
The Formal Stuff:
I’m an individual member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and work within their ethical framework (www.BACP.co.uk).
I hold a Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling and a Level 5 Diploma in Somatic-Informed Trauma Therapy. I’m fully insured, have an enhanced DBS check, and am registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO), ensuring full compliance with GDPR regulations.
Practice description
My partner and I created a practice called Msense because we’re passionate about two things:
- creating a safe space that feels right for you
recognising that everyone has their own preference and style and we take pride in creating a space that feels as safe and non-judgmental as possible, so you feel able to share whatever you need to
- making therapy feel as natural and normal as booking a gym class
after-all, being in your best shape isn't just physical!
I understand that taking the first step to counselling can be daunting, and our goal is to make the process as welcoming and natural as we can.
I take an integrative, client-led approach, which simply means we tailor our work to suit your needs. For many, this means offering a safe, non-judgmental space where you can speak freely and explore your challenges.
For others, it may involve developing tools and techniques to better understand how your mind and body interact. This is where breathing exercises and psychoeducation can be especially useful.
I'm continually expanding our skills and techniques, but I will always be guided by you—your needs, your pace, your goals.
I have experience in areas such as bereavement, trauma, work-related stress, anxiety, depression, childhood development, and neurodiversity. But beyond that, I bring genuine care and a deep commitment to ensuring I create a space where you feel safe, heard, and empowered to take charge of your story.
My first session
In my first session with clients I will cover the safe and ethical practice of working together, agreeing how we want to work and setting boundaries around timing, confidentiality, limits of ability and also expectations and goals of the work.
I will be led by my clients and I know the first session with someone new can be daunting, so I seek to make our initial time together as comfortable as possible. I'll ask questions and we'll get to know each other, then you can make the call on whether I feel right for you.
