About me and my therapy practice

Tackling life’s challenges can feel overwhelming, and I understand how hard it can be to talk to family and friends about relationships, loss, or feelings of depression and anxiety. You may be carrying worries from the past, for the future or feel disappointed that life hasn’t turned out quite as you hoped.

I offer a warm, kind, and supportive space where you can talk openly and without judgement about what truly matters to you.

As an integrative counsellor, I work using Psychodynamic, Person-Centred, and Existential approaches, offering professional, individualised talking therapy tailored to your needs, supporting you gently on your journey towards understanding, growth, and change.

Practice description

This may involve exploring your childhood or the life experiences that have shaped who you are today. At times, we may focus on what is happening for you in the here and now, whether at work, within your family, or around something significant that feels overwhelming. Change can be difficult, and life can place you in situations you may never have imagined.

Together, we can gently explore these experiences, helping you to make sense of them and find a way through.

My first session

I offer a free 15–20 minute telephone consultation to answer any questions you may have about counselling or the way I work. This also gives us the opportunity to get a sense of each other and see whether working together feels right for you.

In the first session, we will explore how we might work together and I will answer any questions you have. This initial meeting is a chance to see whether we are a good fit, and you can then decide, without any pressure, if you would like to continue working with me.

Therapy is about finding a way of working together that suits you, at your own pace. It offers space to explore your experiences, develop your strengths and resilience, and support positive change, with the aim of helping you become the best and happiest version of yourself.

About me and my therapy practice

Tackling life’s challenges can be overwhelming and I understand how it can be hard to talk to family and friends about relationships, loss, historic feelings, or how life hasn’t or isn’t working out quite how you hoped.

You may be experiencing anxiety or depression, low mood, stress and uncertainty, which is affecting life physically, mentally or spiritually and need a space that is just for you.

Together we can create that space and explore what has led you to counselling; perhaps reviewing the past or the present, supported in a safe nurturing environment to help your understanding and empowerment for change.

My love and interest of people and the value I hold for relationships encouraged me to become a counsellor. I truly understand the power of being heard, valued and connected and hope to offer this to you.

With 20 years of experience working in the public sector and with experience at Mind, I bring a supportive and nurturing approach to my practice, learning from each client an interaction which has helped me develop into the counsellor, and person, I am today.
