About me and my therapy practice

Miranda is my given name but I am mostly known as Millie - you are welcome to call me by either name. My work is rooted in deep respect for each person’s innate wisdom and capacity for change under the right conditions. I offer a calm, steady environment where clients feel safe enough to explore the parts of themselves they may have hidden, silenced, or left misunderstood. Rather than “fixing,” I walk alongside — helping untangle patterns, soften self-judgment, and build emotional resilience. Through curiosity, honesty and compassion, I support clients in reconnecting with their own clarity, strength, and sense of possibility.

I offer short or long-term counselling and psychotherapy. My approach is compassionate analysis with gentle challenging. Together, we can explore patterns and protective strategies that may once have helped you but are now limiting your connections, confidence, or sense of ease in yourself.

My aim is not simply to help you cope, but to support lasting change and self-understanding — building self-awareness, emotional resilience, and a more authentic way of relating to yourself and others. If this aligns with your needs or you would like to learn a little more, please feel free to send me an email and we can open the conversation.

Practice description

My practice is person-centred, following the Carl Rogers school of thought that you, the client, will reach your potential if the necessary conditions are present and sufficient.

This means I work with you as a unique individual, drawing on therapy styles that feel suitable as the need arises during our sessions. In this way, I aim to preserve your autonomy and help to build your self-trust.

I believe that reliable, routine and regular sessions are the only way to benefit effectively from therapy and I encourage you, as the client, to communicate your needs and preferences to me so that we can work effectively to achieve your hopes and aims.

My first session

Our first session can be treated as an initial consultation. I am happy to offer this at a reduced fee of £35 if you are feeling unsure, as it provides us with an opportunity to get a sense of whether we would like to work together.

This first meeting provides space for you to share what has brought you to therapy, ask any questions, and get a feel for how I work. If it feels right for you, we will begin to identify some loose key aims or areas of focus, which can be reviewed and adapted as our work develops.

If we decide to progress, I will then send you a therapeutic agreement, which we both commit to, and I will ask you to read and ensure you understand the payment and cancellation terms before ongoing sessions begin. If you feel ready to do so, we can also agree a regular weekly day and time for sessions.  Everything is always open to review.

Therapy, coaching or counselling is usually most effective when sessions are held weekly (minimum), with the option to then move to fortnightly sessions if this feels sufficient and appropriate for both of us.
