About me and my therapy practice

My name is Claire, and I am an integrative humanistic counsellor based in Milford Haven, Pembrokeshire. I hold a BA (Hons) in Counselling and work from a primarily person‑centred foundation, integrating other approaches to suit each individual’s needs. I can work online for any UK location.

I have experience supporting clients through a wide range of emotional and personal challenges. My work with Cruse Bereavement Support, the VC Gallery, my private practice, and community groups has allowed me to support people from many different backgrounds.

As a transgender woman, I bring lived understanding of identity and resilience, which informs my empathy and insight. However, my practice is grounded in professional training, ethical standards, and a commitment to supporting all clients, regardless of background or identity.

Reaching out for support can feel daunting, so my aim is to offer a safe, calm, and non‑judgemental space where you can explore what is happening in your life at your own pace.

What I work with

Bereavement and loss

Stress, anxiety, and emotional overwhelm

Identity exploration and self‑acceptance

Gender identity and transgender wellbeing

Low mood and depression

Life transitions and change

Relationship difficulties

Self‑esteem and confidence

Minority stress

General emotional distress

I offer face‑to‑face sessions in the Pembroke Dock area and online sessions via Teams.

Practice description

Being a transgender woman means I value and welcome diversity in all its forms. Whoever you are and whatever you are facing, my aim is to offer a safe, calm, and non‑judgemental space where you can explore what is going on for you at your own pace.

I work with people from many different backgrounds and experiences, supporting clients with:

Anxiety and stress

Depression and low mood

Bereavement and loss

Trauma and emotional overwhelm

ADHD and Autism

Identity exploration

Relationship or family difficulties

Low self‑esteem and confidence

Life transitions and change

My approach is integrative and humanistic, primarily person‑centred, meaning I will walk alongside you while you lead the direction of our work. I offer both face‑to‑face sessions in the Pembroke Dock area and online sessions via Meet.

My first session

Your first session is an opportunity for us to get to know each other and begin building a safe, trusting therapeutic relationship.

Before we meet, I will email you a copy of the counselling contract so you have time to read through it and ask any questions. During the session, we will go through the contract together to make sure everything feels clear and comfortable for you.

I also use a brief 10‑question wellbeing questionnaire at the start of our work. This helps us create a baseline of how things are for you right now, and we will revisit it at future intervals to reflect on your progress.

After this, the session becomes your space. You are welcome to share what has brought you to counselling, what you are experiencing, and what you hope to gain from our work together. There is no pressure to tell everything at once - we go at your pace.

This is a space for you to tell your story, in your own way, with support and compassion.
