About me and my therapy practice

Hi, I’m Louise, an integrative counsellor and wellness coach supporting adults who often feel like they’re holding everything together for everyone else - work, family or relationships - while quietly feeling overwhelmed themselves.

Many of the people I work with appear capable and coping on the outside, yet privately struggle with anxiety, stress, burnout, overwhelm, self-criticism or the pressure of keeping everything together.

You may be used to supporting others but rarely give yourself the same space and care.

You don’t need to arrive knowing exactly what’s wrong, what you want to change, or even where to begin. Sometimes simply knowing that something doesn’t feel right is enough. We can work together to make sense of it.

I’ve been there myself, and I know how hard it can be to see a way forward when you’re in the thick of it. Many people feel they’re the only one struggling behind closed doors. It can feel isolating, but you don’t have to go through it alone.

Counselling offers you space to slow down, talk openly and make sense of what’s happening without judgement or pressure.

I work in a warm, down-to-earth and practical way. I won’t tell you what you should do, but I also won’t leave you to work everything out alone. We can explore what’s happening, notice patterns, consider different perspectives and work towards changes that feel realistic for you.

As an integrative counsellor, I draw on a range of therapeutic approaches and tailor our sessions to you.

You may be completely new to counselling or have had therapy before. You can begin with a single session, work together for a set period of time, or choose regular ongoing counselling.

Alongside talking therapy, and with your agreement, I may also draw on wellness coaching tools where appropriate.

I have experience working in private practice, within a charity supporting adults, children and young people, and through workplace therapy schemes, including work-related stress. I also teach counselling skills.

Practice description

I offer integrative counselling, drawing from a range of therapeutic approaches to tailor our work to your individual needs, experiences and goals.

Sessions provide a confidential space to explore your thoughts and feelings, gain insight and begin to make sense of your experiences. We may explore patterns, beliefs and behaviours that could be contributing to how you feel, supporting greater self-awareness and understanding.

I work collaboratively and adapt our sessions to what feels most helpful for you. Whether you are looking for a single session, short-term support around a specific issue or longer-term counselling, we can shape the work together.

Alongside talking therapy, and with your agreement, I may draw on wellness coaching tools where appropriate to support your mental, emotional and physical wellbeing in everyday life.

For this listing I offer online counselling only. Online sessions are flexible and convenient, allowing you to access counselling from the comfort of your own space without the time, energy and cost of travelling.

If calling feels difficult, you’re welcome to contact me by email or message. My voicemail is confidential, so you can also leave a message if I’m unable to answer.

My first session

Your first session is a chance to explore what has brought you to counselling and begin addressing the challenges you’re facing.

Many people feel anxious, stressed or overwhelmed before starting therapy - this session is designed to help you feel supported from the start.

You may already know what you want help with, or simply know that something isn’t right, isn’t working, or you don’t feel like yourself. We’ll explore what’s happening, what has been difficult and what you might like to understand or change.

You’ll also have a chance to ask questions, discuss how we might work together and decide if it feels like the right fit. The session is designed to be useful from the outset while helping us plan what comes next.

Many clients tell me they felt supported and understood from their first session, which gave them confidence to take the next steps.

Before booking your first counselling session, I offer a complimentary 15-minute introductory call so we can briefly discuss what you’re looking for and whether the support I offer feels appropriate for you.
