About me and my therapy practice
If anxiety, low self-esteem, or a persistent feeling of not being good enough are shaping your life, therapy can help you understand why these patterns developed and, importantly, how they can begin to change.
Many of the people I work with appear to be coping well on the outside while privately struggling. You may be overthinking conversations, relying on reassurance, feeling unable to say no, putting other people's needs first, or worrying that you'll be rejected if you disappoint someone. You might be highly self-critical, a perfectionist, or feel that your confidence depends on how other people see you. Sometimes these patterns show up in relationships; sometimes they leave you feeling anxious, low, lonely, or disconnected from yourself.
If you've found yourself wondering, "Why do I care so much what other people think?", "Why do I always put everyone else first?" or "Why do I feel I'm not good enough?", therapy offers a space to explore these questions with curiosity rather than judgement.
I offer a warm, thoughtful, and engaged therapeutic relationship where you can speak openly about whatever is on your mind. I won't simply listen passively. I actively think with you, offering observations, ideas, and challenge where these are helpful, while always respecting your experience and your pace.
Before training as a therapist I worked in music, news organisations, and technology. I now work exclusively in private practice from my consulting room in Archway, North London. I am a Registered Member of the BACP, undertake ongoing professional development, and receive regular clinical supervision.
If beginning therapy feels like a the right step, you're welcome to arrange either a free exploratory call or an initial consultation, with no obligation to continue.
Practice description
My approach is integrative and broadly psychodynamic, informed by attachment theory and relational psychotherapy. In simple terms, this means we pay attention not only to what is happening in your life now, but also to the experiences and relationships that have shaped how you think, feel, and relate to yourself and others.
While anxiety or low mood may be what brings you to therapy, they are often expressions of something deeper: long-standing self-criticism, shame, relationship insecurity, fear of rejection, people-pleasing, or difficulty believing that you are enough as you are. Together we work to understand these underlying patterns so that change feels lasting rather than temporary.
The relationship between us can also be a part of the process. Sometimes I will share observations about what I notice between us if I think they help illuminate patterns that may also exist elsewhere in your life. My aim is not to fit you into a theory or method, but to understand your unique experience with warmth, curiosity, and respect.
I work with adults aged 18+ experiencing anxiety, low self-esteem, depression, relationship difficulties, perfectionism, overthinking, people-pleasing, and the lasting effects of difficult early relationships or emotional neglect.
Sessions are usually held weekly in person from my private consulting room in Archway, North London, providing a calm, confidential space in which to explore whatever has brought you to therapy.
