About me and my therapy practice

II work with individuals who feel unsettled in themselves or in their relationships, whether that takes the form of anxiety, low mood, or a more general sense of disconnection.

Often there is a feeling of being pulled in different directions: wanting closeness but finding it difficult to sustain, or managing day-to-day life while something more personal feels unclear or unresolved.

Therapy provides a space to slow this down and begin to make sense of it. I offer a consistent and thoughtful environment where you can speak freely, but I am also an active participant in the process, helping to identify patterns that may not be immediately visible.

My approach is integrative and psychodynamic, with particular attention to how early relational experiences continue to shape current ways of thinking, feeling, and relating.

Psychodynamic - holds that past experiences unconsciously shape adult behaviour; by bringing old patterns into awareness, you can navigate the present with greater clarity and loosen obsolete fears.

Attachment - sees your relational style as rooted in how you were responded to in early life; noticing this can help you foster more secure, fulfilling bonds.

Relational - uses our interaction itself as a lens: I may share my sense of the unspoken communication between us, illuminating patterns such as your self-disempowerment or unrealistic expectations of others.

I trained at CPPD London and Regent’s University, and have a BSc from the LSE. I previously worked as a counsellor at the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama, and at Face2Face London. I have professional supervision, full insurance, DBS, and ICO registration.

Practice description

I offer weekly in-person therapy in North London. After we get started, I may agree to fortnightly or twice-weekly sessions or to do some sessions online or by phone, depending on what works best for you.

You are unique, and your issues are particular to you. That said, there are recurring themes in the struggles people bring to therapy.

Anxiety and depression are common presenting issues: the relentless intrusive thoughts or nameless dread of anxiety; the self-loathing, emptiness, or profound aloneness of depression. These can be treated in their own right, but are often better understood as symptoms of something deeper.

That deeper something often involves low self-worth and shame, a persistent sense of being lesser or not good enough, a dependence on external validation that never quite delivers lasting okayness, and a doubt about your right to take up space or ask for care.

Related to this is a pattern of over-giving and people-pleasing that quietly accumulates into resentment, that because it feels dangerous to express, tends to get turned inward or to erupt in ways that damage the relationships you value most.

Underlying much of this can be a deep ambivalence about closeness itself: longing for connection while finding intimacy overwhelming; or craving reassurance that never feels quite enough, and living in constant anticipation of rejection or abandonment.

It is important to emphasise that in therapy, you are not considered a diagnosis, a label, or a problematic case of any sort. You are someone with a specific inner life, unique personality, complex history, and lived experience. You need, like all of us, to be witnessed and known on your own terms, and my goal in therapy is to provide you with that space and that experience.

About me and my therapy practice

I work with individuals who experience low self-esteem, various forms of loss, and relationship insecurity. These struggles often manifest as anxious or depressive patterns of self-criticism, people-pleasing, or challenges with intimacy or isolation.

I provide a safe and supportive environment where you can share your thoughts and feelings, addressing both your day-to-day challenges and the underlying causes of your emotions.

You may contribute to your difficulties, and I help raise your awareness of this. I am a relatively active therapist, offering responses or challenges while always recognising the importance of your subjectivity and lived experience.

My approach is integrative and broadly psychodynamic, drawing on attachment theory and relational psychotherapy.

About me and my therapy practice

I work with people who are reflecting on themselves more seriously, often in the context of relationships, family life, or a growing sense that long-standing patterns are no longer sustainable.

This may involve anxiety, depression, or relationship difficulties, but often there is also a deeper question about self-worth, emotional expression, or how you relate to those closest to you.

You may notice patterns such as over-giving, difficulty asserting yourself, or a tendency to prioritise others while losing touch with your own needs.

I offer a space where these patterns can be explored in depth. I am an engaged and responsive therapist, and will offer reflections and challenges where they help bring something important into focus.

My approach is integrative and broadly psychodynamic, drawing on attachment and relational thinking to understand how early experiences continue to shape present-day life.

About me and my therapy practice

I work with people experiencing anxiety, depression, and relationship difficulties, whether these feel recent and acute, or part of a longer-standing pattern.

You might be dealing with intrusive thoughts, persistent worry, low mood, or a sense of being stuck in cycles that are hard to shift. There can also be a pattern of self-criticism, people-pleasing, or difficulty maintaining stable, satisfying relationships.

While these issues can be addressed directly, I also help you look at what may sit beneath them, the underlying patterns that give rise to these experiences.

I provide a supportive but engaged therapeutic space. I won’t simply listen passively, I will offer thoughts, observations, and challenges where they feel helpful, while keeping your perspective central.

My approach is integrative and psychodynamic, drawing on attachment and relational ideas to make sense of both current difficulties and their origins.

About me and my therapy practice

I work with individuals who find themselves caught between how they appear externally and how things feel internally, often experiencing low self-esteem, relationship insecurity, or a sense of strain in maintaining a certain version of themselves.

This can take the form of anxiety, overthinking, or difficulty feeling settled in relationships. You may notice a tendency to adapt to others, to anticipate expectations, or to question your own needs and reactions.

Therapy offers a space where that tension can be explored more directly. I am a relatively active therapist, and may offer reflections or challenges that bring attention to patterns that are usually kept out of awareness.

About me and my therapy practice

I work with people who are, in many ways, functioning well, but who find themselves repeating patterns that don’t make sense to them.

This might involve anxiety, low mood, or relationship difficulties, but often there is something more specific underneath: a persistent self-criticism, a tendency to accommodate others at your own expense, or a sense of holding something back while presenting a more composed version of yourself.

Part of the work is recognising that these patterns are not simply things that happen to you. You are, in some way, involved in maintaining them, even if that involvement is not conscious.

Therapy offers a space to look at this more closely. I am not a passive therapist. I will listen carefully, but I will also offer observations and challenges where they feel necessary, including about what may be happening between us in the room.

My approach is integrative and broadly psychodynamic, drawing on attachment and relational thinking. We would look at how earlier experiences continue to shape your expectations, your relationships, and your sense of yourself, often outside of awareness.

Practice description

You are unique, and your issues are particular to you. That said, there are recurring themes in the struggles people bring to therapy, and the following are some I more frequently work with.

People often come to therapy wanting relief from anxiety or depression. While these can be addressed directly, they are frequently expressions of something more enduring.

This may include a sense of being “not quite good enough,” a reliance on external validation that never fully satisfies, or a pattern of over-giving that leads to quiet resentment.

There is often a tension between wanting closeness and finding it difficult to tolerate. Either pulling away, or seeking reassurance that never quite holds.

These patterns tend to feel fixed, but they are not. They persist because they are, at some level, familiar and effective, even when they are costly. Part of therapy is to make these habits visible, so that something different becomes possible.
