About me and my therapy practice

You may be looking for counselling because life feels overwhelming, something difficult keeps returning, or you are tired of holding everything together on your own. Perhaps you appear to be coping while feeling anxious, exhausted, disconnected or unsure underneath. Whatever has brought you here, you deserve a calm, welcoming space where you can talk openly, feel heard and be met with warmth, care and understanding.

I’m Grace, a psychotherapeutic counsellor based in Berkshire, working with adults and young people aged 13+. Over the past nine years, I have supported people in schools, crisis services, online platforms and GP surgeries. I know that therapy is not one-size-fits-all, so I will take time to understand you, what you are experiencing and what you hope counselling might offer.

My approach

You do not need to arrive with the right words or a clear idea of what you need. My approach is warm, open and deeply empathetic, and our relationship will be at the heart of the work. When you feel safe, accepted and not judged, it can become easier to explore experiences that feel difficult, confusing or painful.

I draw on person-centred and Gestalt therapy, adapting our work to you rather than expecting you to fit a set way of doing therapy. We may talk, notice patterns, make space for emotions, explore bodily sensations, or use creative and practical tools when these feel helpful. I will explain anything I suggest, listen to what feels comfortable and work alongside you at your pace.

Your thoughts, emotions and physical experiences may feel closely connected. Anxiety, trauma, stress, pain or exhaustion can show up in the body as well as the mind. Drawing on my professional work and my own experience of chronic health issues and late-diagnosed neurodivergence, I can support you to explore these connections gently, without minimising what you are going through.

Practice description

What I can help with

You might be coping on the outside while feeling anxious, overwhelmed or exhausted underneath. You may be close to burnout, struggling with confidence or shame, or finding it hard to feel comfortable in yourself or connected to others. Perhaps you are living with trauma, loss, neurodivergence, chronic pain, a new diagnosis, identity questions or a life transition, and want somewhere to make sense of it all.

Counselling can give you a compassionate space where you do not have to mask, minimise your experience or have everything worked out. Together, we can gently understand what you are feeling, notice patterns that may be keeping you stuck and develop greater clarity and kindness towards yourself.

I can support you to find practical ways to reduce overwhelm and recover from burnout, build confidence and self-compassion, and recognise what helps you feel safer and more grounded. By paying attention to both mind and body, we can begin to make choices that feel more supportive and true to how you want to live. You do not need to know exactly what you need before reaching out—we can begin wherever you are and find a way forward together.

My first session

What sessions with me look like

Our sessions will be collaborative and guided by what feels most useful for you. Some days you may want to talk slowly and make sense of what has happened. At other times, we might focus on what is happening in the present with your feelings, thoughts, bodily sensations or recurring patterns. Or we may use practical tools, psychoeducation and creative approaches to help you feel more grounded and supported.

There is no pressure to move faster than feels right. Healing and growth can happen in small steps, and the pace may change over time. I will stay alongside you, helping you build insight, self-awareness and resilience in a way that feels safe enough to be meaningful.

Working together

You may be looking for longer-term support with trauma, shame, identity, neurodivergence, chronic health or patterns that keep returning in your life. Or you may want shorter, more focused counselling around nervous system regulation, coping tools, mind-body awareness or a particular experience you want to understand. We can talk about what you need and whether working together feels right for you.

If something here resonates with you, you are welcome to book a free 20-minute introductory call. This is a gentle opportunity to tell me a little about what is bringing you to counselling, ask questions and get a sense of whether I may be the right person to support you. Taking the first step can feel significant, and you do not have to have everything figured out before making contact. You can get in touch by sending an enquiry and I will get back to you as soon as I can.

I look forward to hearing from you and exploring how I might support you.
