Hi, I work Mon-Fri 8:30 - 6:30 and later on Wednesdays and usually have availability for new clients within a week of so.
About me and my therapy practice
Hi, my name is Nigel Skinner and I am a highly qualified and experienced Psychotherapist based in North Wales & Chester.
My background was in senior management for large corporations, where I worked primarily in 'people management', developing high performing teams of uniquely skilled individuals. This is where my interest in Psychology and human behaviour developed and my journey to Counselling and Psychotherapy began.
I focus entirely on supporting people with their mental health and wellbeing. In our sessions, my role is to provide a safe, non-judgemental space where you can talk openly about what you’re going through.
I work with individuals experiencing stress, anxiety, low mood, trauma, or simply feeling stuck and unsure of the way forward. Together, we’ll explore your experiences, make sense of what’s happening for you, and develop practical strategies to help you cope and move forward. My priority is always your emotional and mental health, and my aim is to help you feel more balanced, resilient, and able to manage life’s challenges with confidence.
Practice description
I founded my private mental wellbeing practice - 'Enestee Ltd' with a policy of providing science & research-based mental health solutions to the public and businesses.
Through Enestee I am proud to provide individualised, science-backed solutions to support a person’s mental well-being; in a uniquely holistic way, I can combine several therapeutic solutions to help my clients deal with their issues, adapt, cope, and build resilience to whatever is challenging their mental health. It’s a personalised approach that centres around your own life journey, experiences and beliefs.
I provide the public with access to talking therapies, practical solutions for mental well-being, and life and career coaching.
I also help smaller businesses; Enestee can provide Employee Wellbeing Consultancy to assess and enhance workplace mental health. As well as providing courses such as Resilience & Positivity Coaching, Mindfulness & Relaxation Training, alongside Mental Health Training.
My first session
Depending on you own wishes, we may hold a short free introduction call by telephone to firm up your requirements.
I work in-person (if you are local) and by telephone or video (completely your choice). Prior to our first full session I will send you several emails to gather necessary registration information and your consents for me to hold certain personal data. Included will be a health survey to give me a baseline for your current state of mental wellbeing.
When we first meet I will be trying to ascertain as much context about you and your life as possible and we may jump around talking about different things as they come up. I will be asking you what has brought you to counselling and about your desired outcomes from our sessions.
Counselling is successful when there is a mutual understanding and level of comfort, confidence and trust between myself as the counsellor and you as my client. Early sessions are about us building this therapeutic relationship. Sessions are entirely confidential and you may be disclosing very personal information, it is important that you feel comfortable doing so.

Hi, I work Mon-Fri 8:30 - 6:30 and later on Wednesdays and usually have availability for new clients within a week of so.
About me and my therapy practice
I am a counsellor based at Enestee in Holywell, North Wales, working with adults experiencing a range of emotional and psychological difficulties. My work is grounded in providing a steady, respectful and non-judgemental space where you can explore your thoughts, feelings and experiences at your own pace.
My approach is integrative and shaped around you. I draw on different therapeutic ideas and ways of working depending on what feels most helpful for your situation. Together, we may explore patterns in your thoughts, feelings, relationships and behaviours, consider how past experiences may be influencing the present, and work towards a deeper understanding of yourself and your circumstances.
For some people, therapy is about having space to process painful or confusing experiences. For others, it may involve developing practical ways to manage stress, anxiety, emotional overwhelm or difficult life transitions. Often, it is a combination of both: creating space for reflection while also supporting meaningful change.
I place strong importance on the therapeutic relationship. I believe that feeling safe, respected and understood is central to effective counselling. My aim is to offer a professional and compassionate space where you do not feel judged, rushed or reduced to a problem to be solved.
I understand that starting therapy can feel daunting. It can take courage to speak about things that may feel private, painful or difficult to put into words. My role is to meet you with warmth, honesty and professionalism, and to support you in exploring whatever has brought you to counselling.
Practice description
As the founder of Enestee, I have developed the practice around a clear set of values: counselling should be ethical, credible, compassionate and rooted in real human connection. Enestee has grown from my belief that people deserve local mental wellbeing support that feels professional, thoughtful and personal, rather than distant or impersonal.
Enestee is a local mental wellbeing consultancy with a wider commitment to community, ethical practice and accessible support. This includes building a practice that can support individuals, local organisations and the wider North East Wales community while retaining the personal, human feel that sits at the heart of counselling.
