About me and my therapy practice

I am an integrative therapist working with children, young people and adults. My approach is relational, trauma-informed and grounded in attachment theory.

As an integrative therapist, I draw on a range of approaches including person-centred therapy, psychodynamic, transactional analysis and creative methods. I also integrate models such as DDP, Theraplay, filial therapy and the DMM attachment framework, alongside somatic approaches that support regulation and connection. This allows me to work in a way that fits the needs and goals of each individual client.

The therapeutic relationship is at the heart of my work. I believe meaningful change happens in the context of a safe, consistent and attuned relationship, supporting you to work towards your goals.

Alongside counselling, I have additional training in trauma-informed practice, clinical hypnotherapy, solution focused approaches, yoga, and breathwork in therapy. I am also a registered member of the Association for Coaching and the NCPS.

My work often supports clients with anxiety, trauma, attachment difficulties, emotional regulation, relational challenges and bereavement. I also have a strong background in safeguarding and child development, which informs my work with families and professionals.

I work in a way that is gentle but purposeful, moving at your pace. My aim is to support you to feel safer, more connected and better able to navigate life with confidence and self-understanding.

Practice description

When you begin therapy with me, you can expect a warm, steady and respectful space where you are met as you are. I place strong importance on building trust and helping you feel safe enough to explore what has brought you to therapy.

Sessions are collaborative and responsive to your needs. Depending on what feels most helpful, we may work through talking, creative approaches, or body-based and sensory-informed practices to support regulation and awareness.

If I am working with children or young people, sessions are adapted developmentally and may include play-based, relational and sensory approaches. I also work closely with parents and carers where needed, supporting the wider relational system around the child.

I offer both short-term and longer-term therapy either face to face or online (I do not offer online sessions for children under 16). Some clients come with a specific focus, while others use the space more exploratively. We will regularly reflect on how the work is going to ensure it remains helpful and aligned with your needs.

Above all, my aim is to offer a space where you feel heard, understood and supported to move forward in a way that feels right for you.

My first session

The first session is an opportunity for us to meet and begin to get a sense of whether working together feels right for you. There is no expectation to share everything straight away. We go at a pace that feels comfortable.

I will invite you to talk a little about what has brought you to therapy and what you would like support with. We may also explore some background information to help me understand your experiences more fully and assess how I can help you. This is done gently and collaboratively, without pressure.

I will explain how I work, including confidentiality, boundaries and what you can expect from sessions. There is space for you to ask any questions and to talk about what you might need from therapy.

For children and young people, the first session may involve meeting with parents or carers, either separately or together, to understand the wider context and ensure support is in place.

I offer a free initial call for clients to get a sense of whether they would like to work with me prior to booking the first session. The aim of the first session is to begin building a sense of safety and connection, and to help you decide whether you would like to continue. There is no obligation to commit beyond this session. I also offer a free initial call for clients to get a sense of whether they would like to work with me.
