About me and my therapy practice
Hi I'm Angie, Welcome to my profile
I appreciate that you may be anxious, and it has taken a lot for you to get here, and finding the counsellor who is right for you is important.
My approach is to create a supportive, confidential environment to explore the feelings, thoughts and challenges in your life. I truly believe that healing begins when you feel safe and understood.
My journey toward becoming a counsellor grew out of the positive experience counselling had on my own life. Trying to be your authentic self while managing expectations, relationships or inner struggles can feel exhausting. Constantly adapting or questioning yourself can leave you feeling disconnected, drained or unsure of where you belong. My own lived experience as a mother of two grown children, wife and carer to a disabled husband, and daughter of a recovering alcoholic, have given me a deep understanding of how challenging life can be. This is why I believe so strongly in offering a space where you are met with Empathy, Acceptance and Genuine care.
If you would like a free 30-minute introductory telephone or online chat, please get in touch. This can be an opportunity to have a relaxed conversation, ask any questions you may have and get a feel for my approach.
Practice description
I practise using an Integrative approach which means that I draw upon different approaches and techniques, working closely with your individual needs, pace and personal story.
We can feel stuck at times and there may be a sense that something doesn’t feel right. Counselling is a collaborative process . I can help you navigate through personal challenges where you can explore what is troubling you. My priority is creating a supportive, safe, confidential space where you guide the conversation. It is important that you feel comfortable expressing yourself openly and honestly without fear of judgement.
The aim of counselling is to bring awareness and positive change to your life, offering a pathway to enhanced self-awareness.
As a qualified counsellor, much of my practise involves working with individuals experiencing a wide range of issues including:
Anxiety
Depression
Low self-esteem
Addiction
Trauma
Loss
Abuse-Sexual/Domestic
ADHD/Neurodiversity
Work related stress
Relationship challenges
Exam Stress
My first session
If you decide to continue, our first session will include sharing some personal details for my records and for us to create an agreement that works for both of us and that meets any legal requirements to keep our work together safe and professional. We can discuss the number of sessions needed and best approach moving forward. How we work together is always open for discussion.
Sessions can be in-person (in Tring) or online depending on your preference. I offer both short term and longer-term therapy depending on your needs. Sessions typically last 50 minutes and are the same time every week.
I offer concessions to anyone who is currently unemployed and a student.
