About me and my therapy practice
Hello!
I'm a BACP registered and NCPS accredited integrative counsellor in Derby providing short and long-term therapy for adults (both individuals and couples) I offer online and face-to-face counselling, making it easy to access support wherever you are.
My aim is for every client to feel seen, heard and understood. Through gentle exploration and guided self-discovery, I will work with you to develop greater self-awareness – and with that, the capacity to make meaningful, lasting change. You can take a step closer to the version of yourself you want to become and further away from the version shaped by difficult circumstances and past experiences.
Practice description
I’m trained in multiple modalities, which I integrate according to what feels most effective for you. I also draw extensively on Compassion Focused Therapy, a powerful branch of CBT that helps clients connect their early life experiences with current emotional patterns, resistances and struggles. I’ve found this to be an especially valuable framework for fostering understanding, acceptance and emotional healing.
I work with both short and long term clients and as such there is no limit on the number of sessions. I will continue to work with you for as long as needed, holding regular reviews with you to ensure sessions are as beneficial as possible.
I believe that effective therapy hinges upon a strong therapeutic relationship between client and therapist. Client feedback to date has confirmed the benefits clients have experienced and also the safety they felt within sessions. I foster an open and collaborative approach to our work together.
My first session
I offer a free 20 minute phone assessment as a first step. This call allows each of us to find out a bit more about each other to assess whether my approach and skillset are a match to your goals for therapy.
Following that call, we would schedule our first session at a mutually suitable time and this would be charged at the standard session rate. The first session would focus on contracting as well as agreeing your therapy goals.
