About me and my therapy practice
I’m Kay, a fully qualified counsellor and a registered member of the BACP (MBACP). I came into counselling through a deep belief that people deserve a space where they can feel heard and understood.
Over the years, I’ve been drawn to supporting others, gaining experience working with children, families, people navigating financial pressures, neurodivergent individuals (including those with ADHD and autism), and members of the LGBTQIA+ community — particularly lesbian and gay clients. These experiences have strengthened my understanding of how important it is to create a space where everyone feels welcomed, respected, and able to explore what they’re going through at their own pace.
I work with clients experiencing anxiety, depression, and the emotional challenges that can arise from everyday life, relationships, and past experiences.
Whether you’re navigating fertility challenges — such as conception without medical intervention, IUI or IVF — thinking about expanding your family, or finding family life overwhelming, I offer a supportive space to explore your thoughts and emotions. These journeys can feel isolating, and counselling can provide a steady place to pause, reflect, and feel heard
My aim is to offer a calm, compassionate space where you can explore your experiences, understand yourself more deeply, and grow in the direction that feels right for you.
Practice description
If I am your counsellor, I will offer a confidential, consistent and respectful space where you can explore whatever is on your mind. I work collaboratively, helping you reflect on patterns, understand your emotions and develop insight into what you need. My approach is gentle, thoughtful and centred around your pace and goals.
I provide a calm, supportive environment where you can talk openly, explore what’s going on for you and feel heard without judgement. I work online with clients across the UK, creating a grounded space that allows you to slow down, breathe and begin making sense of your experiences.
My practice is rooted in a predominantly person‑centred approach, which means I focus on warmth, acceptance and non‑judgement. I also draw on elements from other therapeutic models when they can support your individual needs and enhance our work together.
Every story is welcomed here, and every path is valid.
My first session
Before we begin working together, I offer a free 20‑minute video consultation. This gives you the opportunity to ask questions, get a sense of how I work, and decide whether counselling with me feels like the right fit.
I use a counselling contract so you have clear, straightforward information about how we’ll work together. It covers confidentiality, session times and boundaries, helping us create a safe and steady foundation from the very beginning.
