About me and my therapy practice

Hello — I’m really glad you’ve found your way here.

If you’ve arrived feeling a little lost, burnt out, or like you’ve been holding far too much on your own, you deserve support with whatever you’re carrying.

So many people spend years being the reliable one, the kind one, the one who keeps everything running smoothly… while inside something feels tight, heavy or quietly overwhelming.

You might recognise yourself in moments such as:

• Saying “yes” when something in you is begging to say “no”

• Replaying conversations long after they’ve ended

• Getting caught in the same relationship patterns

• Feeling guilty for resting or slowing down

• Feeling too much & not enough at the same time

• Working so hard to be perfect that you forget what you need

If any of the above resonates with you, you don’t have to work through it alone. Many people come to therapy hoping to:

• Trust themselves more

• Set boundaries without the guilt that follows

• Feel calmer in their mind and body

• Understand their triggers & emotional responses

• Make decisions from a steadier place

• Rest without fear of falling behind

Between where you are now and where you want to be, there is space to explore gently, at your pace, supported rather than rushed, and never judged.

Practice description

I’m Lucy — a BACP qualified integrative counsellor with a Level 6 Diploma in Integrative Counselling from the NHS Inter-Psyche Training Institute (equivalent to degree level). I'm a warm, honest, quietly free-spirited therapist and the founder of Soul Space Counselling.

I’ve worked in both NHS services and private practice, and I engage in ongoing supervision and professional development to ensure my work remains ethical, grounded and mindful.

As an integrative therapist, my approach draws from:

• Person-centred values – offering empathy, acceptance & space to be fully yourself

• Psychodynamic insight – exploring deeper patterns & past experiences that still shape how you feel today

• Attachment theory – understanding relationship patterns, emotional responses & individual needs

• Cognitive approaches – noticing thoughts that impact mood, confidence & day-to-day stress

• Relational work – using the therapeutic relationship as a safe place to understand how you connect with others

In our work together I offer gentle curiosity and thoughtful challenge when something important needs attention. I support you in reconnecting with the experiences and emotions that haven’t had space, while strengthening the inner resources you already carry.

I am experienced in many areas which include:

• Identity & self-worth

• Anxiety & depression

• Unhealthy relationship patterns

• People-pleasing & self-silencing

• Health related issues

• Loss & grief

• Work stress & overcommitting

• Self-image, desire & sexuality

• Self-harm & coping mechanisms

Whether your experience fits into a neat category or not, everything that feels heavy, confusing or messy has a place at Soul Space. I welcome LGBTQIA+ clients and work inclusively with people whose identities or experiences sit outside the mainstream.

My first session

I offer a free 20-minute consultation so you can ask any questions and share a little about what has brought you here - there’s no pressure or obligation, just a gentle starting point.

Therapy Prices (Payable on booking):

• Online - £55 per session (50 minutes)

• In person - £65 per session (50 minutes)

• 4 x Online sessions - £200

Once booked, I’ll send a counselling agreement to read and sign electronically, along with a short personal-details form.

The first session is a calm, settling-in space. We’ll consider what brings you here, what you’re hoping for and how we can work together in a way that feels steady, safe and supportive for you.

If you feel ready to begin, you’re welcome to reach out or book your consultation — I’d be happy to meet you.
