About me and my therapy practice
You might be someone who appears confident and capable on the outside, but privately finds yourself questioning your decisions, worrying about what others think, or feeling that you're never quite doing enough.
Perhaps you find yourself putting other people's needs before your own, replaying conversations in your head, or noticing the same difficulties appearing in different relationships. Sometimes it's hard to understand why we feel or react the way we do, particularly when everything seems fine on the surface.
I'm an integrative psychotherapist offering a warm, thoughtful space to explore what's happening in your life and what might be keeping you feeling stuck.
I work with people experiencing anxiety, low self-esteem, relationship difficulties, shame, overthinking and feelings of not being good enough. Sometimes there's a particular event or challenge bringing you to therapy. Other times, it's simply a sense that something needs to change, even if you're not quite sure what.
My approach is collaborative and relational. Together, we can explore how your experiences, both past and present, may be influencing how you feel about yourself and relate to others. I'm interested in helping you develop a deeper understanding of yourself, while also finding ways to respond to life's challenges with greater confidence and self-compassion.
I work with people from a range of backgrounds and have particular experience supporting gay men and members of the LGBTQ+ community.
You don't need to have everything figured out before starting therapy. We can begin wherever you are.
Practice description
My approach to therapy is warm, thoughtful and grounded. I believe that feeling genuinely heard and understood can make an important difference, particularly when you've spent a long time trying to manage things on your own.
I work in a relational and collaborative way, taking time to understand not just what's happening in your life, but how you've come to experience yourself and others in the way you do. I'm interested in the patterns we develop, often without realising it, and how these can influence our relationships, confidence and emotional wellbeing.
As an integrative psychotherapist, I draw on person-centred, psychodynamic and mindfulness-based approaches. This allows us to work flexibly, whether you're looking to understand something from your past, navigate a current difficulty or develop a different way of responding to yourself and others.
I work with adults from a range of backgrounds and have particular experience supporting gay men and other LGBTQ+ clients. As a gay therapist myself, I understand that identity, relationships and experiences of belonging can sometimes bring particular challenges. Equally, your sexuality may have little to do with what brings you to therapy, and that's absolutely fine too.
I offer both short-term and open-ended therapy, depending on what you're looking for. Sessions are available online and in person in London Bridge and King's Cross.
If you're considering therapy, you're welcome to get in touch for a free 15-minute initial conversation. There's no expectation to have everything worked out before we speak.
My first session
The first session is an opportunity for us to get to know each other and begin exploring what has brought you to therapy, what you might be hoping for, and how we could work together.
I'll ask a few questions about your background and what's happening in your life, but there's no expectation to share everything straight away. Some people arrive knowing exactly what they want to talk about, while others aren't quite sure where to begin. Both are absolutely fine.
We'll take things at a pace that feels comfortable for you, allowing space for whatever feels important. It's also an opportunity for you to ask questions, get a sense of how I work, and see how it feels to talk together.
Sessions last 50 minutes and are charged at my standard fee of £85.
If you'd prefer to have an initial conversation before booking a full session, I offer a free 15-minute Zoom consultation. This gives us a chance to briefly discuss what you're looking for and whether working together feels right.
