About me and my therapy practice
Welcome — I’m Pippa, a fully qualified Psychodynamic Therapist and registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).
I offer a safe, confidential and non-judgemental space where you can speak openly about what is troubling you. Together, we can explore your thoughts, feelings and behaviours, while gently considering how past experiences, relationships and working life may be influencing the present.
Psychodynamic theory and research suggest that our early experiences shape the way we relate — both to others and to ourselves. When these patterns are explored , new understanding can emerge. With greater understanding often comes greater self-awareness, choice and confidence.
People come to therapy for many different reasons. Some are managing on the outside while struggling privately within. Others arrive feeling overwhelmed, tearful or unsure how to hold things together.
However you are feeling, you will be met with care, steadiness and respect. In therapy, there is space to pause, reflect and begin to make sense of what feels confusing or painful.
Practice description
I offer both short-term and open-ended psychodynamic therapy from my private practice near Slinfold, West Sussex.
Psychodynamic therapy looks beneath immediate symptoms to explore the deeper emotional and relational patterns that may be shaping your current experiences. Over time, this can lead to more meaningful and sustainable change.
I work with individuals and have experience supporting clients with:
• Anxiety, depression, panic and loneliness
• Stress, burnout and workplace pressures
• Redundancy and career transitions
• Coercive control, narcissistic or physical abuse and trauma
• Relationship breakdown, separation and loss
• Rejection, anger and low self-esteem
• Feelings relating to self-harm or suicidal thoughts
• Bereavement
Alongside my clinical training, I bring extensive experience of working within organisational and leadership settings. This allows me to understand the complexities of professional identity, performance pressure and the emotional impact of responsibility.
I am particularly interested in supporting young adults and professionals navigating early and mid-adulthood — a time when questions of identity, belonging and direction can feel especially intense.
My first session
I offer a free initial consultation which takes between 40 and 50 minutes. This can be in person or online, depending on your preference. This is a chance for you to share what brings you to therapy and for us both to get a sense of whether we might work well together.
There's no obligation to continue after this meeting. It's simply an opportunity to explore whether therapy feels right for you at this time.
If we decide to work together, we'll agree on a regular time for sessions. Most clients meet weekly, though this can be adjusted based on your needs. Regular sessions are 50 minutes long and take place at the same time each week.
We'll discuss practicalities like fees, cancellation policies, and confidentiality. I'll also answer any questions you have.
