About me and my therapy practice
I offer walk and talk therapy sessions for adults in the beautiful mix of open space and woodland in Nonsuch and Cheam parks and Warren Farm. I also offer online sessions for those who would prefer this, or who aren't local to the area.
Walk and Talk counselling sessions, also known as outdoor therapy, are a great alternative for those who find traditional counselling too intense.
By incorporating the benefits of fresh air and exercise, alongside the more targeted support that counselling offers, many find this approach helps them to open up.
As an integrative counsellor, I will draw on various theories such as person-centred and psychodynamic counselling, exploring how your past shapes your present, alongside mindfulness and creative practices.
Practice description
I know that it can sometimes be hard to take that first step and talk about difficult experiences. I am here to offer you a safe, nurturing environment and the time to do this at your own speed.
My role isn’t to hand you the answers, but to walk alongside you, literally and metaphorically in our sessions. I aim to help you to understand and connect with your emotions whilst offering useful insights that help you to recognise your triggers and explore your options for the future.
I am a patient and curious counsellor who is empathic and intuitive and listens for what is beyond the words. I offer an inclusive, supportive space for everyone including neurodivergent & LGBTQ+ people.
For walk and talk sessions, if you are comfortable doing so, we could explore nature based creative approaches, mindfulness and grounding techniques to best support you and your individual situation.
For those working online, I draw on the same mindfulness and grounding techniques I would use in outdoor sessions, alongside more traditional talking therapy.
My first session
Whether you choose to have walk and talk sessions, or online ones, our first session will take place online.
This first session will give you a chance to go through your reasons for wanting counselling and any paperwork that needs to be completed, alongside discussing how walk and talk will work, including how we maintain confidentiality and what to do in bad weather.
