I am Dr Wendy Piatt (BA, MPHIL, PhD (Oxon), MBACP) and I am  Director of the Harley Piatt Practice. I offer a free initial 15-minute consultation to discuss the challenges you are currently facing, the reasons you are considering therapy and how you and I might work together in the future. There is no commitment to on-going therapy sessions after this initial consultation, so please feel free to reach out.

Appointments are currently offered at various times in the week to suit busy people including evenings and weekends depending on availability.

You can choose to have your session:

• Online - from the comfort of your home, or

• In-person - from our private consulting rooms in Harley Street.

About me and my therapy practice

I am an integrative psychotherapist – which simply means I tailor my approach to suit your individual needs drawing on a range of theories and techniques. I have an excellent track record in working with clients on issues such as anxiety, depression, stress, loneliness, bereavement, relationship problems, insomnia, trauma, anger, low self-esteem, loss of motivation, energy and joy.

I have enjoyed an extensive career in senior management and high-profile roles working with leaders at the highest levels of business, government, the media and academia. This has given me a deep understanding of the pressures facing high-achieving, talented individuals who often work in fast paced, demanding, competitive environments or clients who have to juggle numerous, often competing, priorities. I also have a rare understanding of the stresses of being in the spotlight and the public eye. Working in the NHS Counselling service also gave me invaluable experience of a diverse range of presenting issues and conditions and clients from many different backgrounds.

I have undergraduate and postgraduate degrees from Oxford University and King’s College, London where I was awarded several academic prizes.

Practice description

I can help you cope better with the many challenges and struggles life brings. I aim to empower my clients, improve their quality of life and well-being, and enable them to fulfil their potential. I can help you achieve a clearer understanding of yourself and improve your relationships with your partners, family, friends and/or colleagues.

I provide a non-judgemental, confidential space where you can feel entirely safe and free to reveal your innermost thoughts or open up about traumatic or distressing experiences which you may not have felt able to share with anyone else.

My first session

In advance of your first session, I will ask you to complete 2 short questionnaires to aid in the process of understanding you and the difficulties you are facing. This session is very much about getting to know you and understanding in more depth what has brought you to therapy and what you want to achieve. I will set out how I work with clients including how I tailor my approach to suit their needs drawing on different therapy approaches and techniques.
