About me and my therapy practice

Hi, I'm Abi, welcome.  I work in a warm, non-judgemental way which I hope provides a space which is calm and gentle.  We can work together either in person or online, whichever feels most comfortable for you.

My approach is non-directive, which means I won't tell you what to do, you determine how things go and at what pace. Together we can explore the reasons that brought you to counselling.  I appreciate that it can be hard to take the first step, and to find the right person to work with so please feel free to ask as many questions as you need, about anything you like.

I aim to support you through a relationship built on trust, empathy and respect.

Working with adults on a wide range of issues including anxiety, low mood, loss, life transitions, identity and relationship challenges. I have a trauma informed approach and aim to meet each client with sensitivity and care.

Everyone is welcome, I offer an inclusive space where you will feel safe, respected and accepted. There doesn't need to be a specific reason for coming, sometimes things just don't feel right, or you are curious to know more about what makes you tick.

Sessions last up to 50 minutes, whether you're feeling stuck, overwhelmed or simply curious about what therapy might bring, you're very welcome exactly as you are.

I am a registered member of the BACP and adhere to their Ethical Framework.

Practice description

At the heart of my practice is the belief that meaningful change happens through relationship. I offer a collaborative, compassionate space where you are invited to bring whatever you’re carrying — without pressure or expectation. I don’t offer advice or direction, but instead we work together to explore what matters to you, trusting that insight and clarity will come.

I aim to create a space that feels steady and safe. I work in a trauma-informed way, being mindful of working at a pace that is gentle yet effective, always remembering the importance of choice and consent in everything we do.

Therapy with me is a space where you don’t have to perform or hold it all together, it's all welcome, however you are in that moment.

My first session

Our first session is an initial meeting and is offered at a reduced fee of £30. It is a chance for us to get a sense of one another and explore whether working together feels like the right fit. Held in person and lasting up 50 minutes, the session includes some questions from me, a space for you to share a brief personal history, and time to ask anything you'd like to know.

I’ll also take some basic details, all of which will be held securely in line with GDPR. Toward the end, we can consider whether to move forward together and, if so, arrange the next steps. There’s no pressure or obligation — it’s simply a space to begin the conversation.  I really am looking forward to working with you, thank you.

About me and my therapy practice

Hi, I'm Abi, welcome. I appreciate how challenging it can be to find the right therapist, I work in a warm and non-judgemental way.  I am an experienced Humanistic counsellor which essentially means that you set the pace, I'm not there to tell you what to do, rather we work together to explore what has brought you to counselling.  I work in a trauma informed way, gently and with a focus on how things are feeling in the moment.  I work with anxiety, depression and family issues amongst others. My approach is rooted in kindness, patience and compassion, helping you to find your own path to wellbeing. I work with young adults aged 18 - 25, and those over 25.

I offer sessions either in person, online or walking therapy outdoors, whichever suits you best.  Committed to offering an inclusive and accepting space, all backgrounds, identities and experiences are welcome.  Nerves are normal, not knowing where to start is normal, we can explore together, feel free to ask as many questions as you need.

Practice description

I am a qualified Humanistic Counsellor (Dip) and a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy.

My experience covers working with young adults 18- 25, 25 and over, people in recovery from substance misuse, loss, depression, anxiety, social anxiety, relationship issues and neurodiversity amongst others.  I have worked with people navigating life transitions and the impacts of change on their lives.

Walking therapy is another way of working that works well for lots of people.  Being together, side by side, in nature offers an alternative to the face to face traditional therapy. This can feel softer, allowing space both mentally and physically. Sharing your thoughts whilst walking somewhere peaceful, having the option to sit for a moment can bring a fresh perspective.  There are a number of different routes, to suit differing levels of mobility. All are welcome.

I have been practicing mindfulness for many years and can incorporate this in to our sessions if it feels right for you.

My first session

The first session is offered at the reduced rate of £30. This is an opportunity to see how we feel, if we are the right fit for each other. There is a little bit of paperwork and then we can talk about what brings you to counselling.

What I can help with
