About me and my therapy practice
I offer a warm, thoughtful and relational approach to counselling and psychotherapy. My work is integrative, meaning I draw on different therapeutic models to respond to you as an individual rather than following a fixed method.
I am particularly interested in how early experiences, relationships, and life events shape the way we feel about ourselves and others. Many of the people I work with describe feeling anxious, emotionally overwhelmed, stuck in repeating relationship patterns, or disconnected from themselves. Together, we explore these experiences with curiosity and compassion, helping you to make sense of what may be happening beneath the surface.
I pay close attention to the connection between mind and body, recognising that emotional distress is often held physically as tension, fatigue, or a sense of unease. Therapy can provide space to slow down, notice these patterns, and develop a greater sense of emotional awareness and regulation.
I aim to offer a steady, confidential environment where you feel safe enough to speak openly, including about thoughts or feelings that may feel difficult or confusing. We work at a pace that feels manageable for you. Over time, this process can support increased self-understanding, improved relationships, and a stronger sense of connection to yourself.
Practice description
I provide private counselling and psychotherapy for adults in Eynsham (West Oxfordshire), Deddington (North Oxfordshire), and online.
Clients often come to me when they are feeling anxious, overwhelmed, low in mood, or struggling in relationships. Some are navigating life transitions, loss, or burnout. Others may not have a clear label for what they are experiencing but sense that something does not feel right.
Sessions last 50 minutes and usually take place weekly at a consistent time. Therapy may be short-term and focused, or longer-term and exploratory, depending on your needs. We will review our work together periodically to ensure it remains helpful and aligned with your goals.
My practice is grounded in creating a respectful, collaborative therapeutic relationship. You can expect to be met with empathy, careful listening, and thoughtful challenge where appropriate. I will not tell you what to do, but I will support you in developing deeper insight, emotional resilience, and the confidence to make meaningful changes.
I adhere to the BACP Ethical Framework and engage in regular supervision and ongoing professional development.
My first session
I offer an initial 50-minute assessment session at my usual session rate. This meeting gives us the opportunity to explore what has brought you to therapy, your current circumstances, and what you hope to gain from counselling.
The first session is also a space for you to get a sense of how I work and whether you feel comfortable with me. A strong therapeutic relationship is central to effective therapy, and it is important that you feel able to speak openly and safely.
I may ask some gentle questions about your background, relationships, and any previous experiences of therapy to help build a fuller picture of your situation. There is no pressure to share more than feels manageable at this stage.
Towards the end of the session, we can discuss whether ongoing work together feels appropriate and, if so, agree on a regular weekly time. If I believe another form of support would better meet your needs, I will discuss this with you openly and, where possible, signpost you to alternative services.
