About me and my therapy practice
Sometimes, life can lead us to question our own actions, life directions, aspects of our personalities, or even our worth. Over time, this can lead to anxiety, depression, a sense of disconnection, and cause us to hide or reject parts of ourselves.
I am a qualified integrative therapist offering online sessions, as well as walk-and-talk therapy in a lovely park in Brighton. Integrative counselling enables me to draw from different therapeutic disciplines, tailoring the approach to you and your needs.
During times of difficulty and self doubt, things can feel overwhelming. But with someone to talk to, these periods present golden opportunities to make realisations that dramatically increase our understanding, self-compassion and ability to enact positive change. In my work, I help clients to explore the hidden and rejected aspects of their personalities, which ironically often contain our most joyful, loveable and loving true selves.
Together, we will explore your present challenges and history, including past situations and relationships that may be preventing you from flourishing today. Working together from a place of safety, we will gently explore your feelings, your past, and the relationship that you have with yourself. This can relieve your suffering, anxiety or sadness, help you recover your zest for life, and discover new joys.
Counselling is a highly rewarding process that supports you in making changes that enhance your happiness and ability to live true to yourself. I feel privileged to accompany clients as they travel towards a greater understanding of themselves and their relationships with family, friends, partners, colleagues and the wider world.
Practice description
I qualified in 2019 as an integrative counsellor, which combines an accepting and non-judgmental attitude with an analytical approach. My style is warm, empathic and engaged. After listening and considering, I will share what I think, even if those thoughts are occasionally challenging.
I enjoy working with clients from any background. Over 20-years as a journalist and copywriter allow me to understand some of the issues affecting those working in the creative industries. I have also worked with young people as a student counsellor, helping me to understand the pressures that modern society places on young people. My life experience also gives me insight into the joys and challenges of parenthood in diverse unconventional circumstances.
Because the quality of the working relationship between client and counsellor is very important, I offer a free 15-minute introductory call to help decide if we are a good fit.
My first session
In our first session, we will look at a counselling contract together, and agree how we will work. I will be interested to hear what brings you to therapy, what you would like to change, heal or explore while in counselling, and establish your goals for therapy.
On beginning work, we'll discuss your present situation and concerns, before approaching how your past may be influencing your current feelings and circumstances.
Regular reviews about how you are finding therapy will help you get the most from the experience.

About me and my therapy practice
I work with thoughtful people who are navigating identity, self-worth, and doing life differently.
Do you feel that you are struggling with sadness or anxiety, feeling unseen, concerns about being not ‘enough’ (or ‘too much’), or finding yourself in patterns that are hard to break?
I have a particular interest in working with self-worth, identity and relationships. Together, we can begin to understand where these patterns come from and work towards change.
I offer outdoor walk-and-talk therapy in Queen’s Park, online, and face-to-face in a pleasant room in Hanover. I often work with people who are thoughtful and self-aware, and who may be used to holding things together on the outside while struggling more internally.
My warm, thoughtful way of working will help you to explore what’s going on for you at your own pace. I pay attention to how we connect as we work together – because this can often reflect patterns that show up elsewhere in your life.
Before training as a therapist, I spent 20 years as a journalist and copywriter. I listen closely, ask meaningful questions, and help people find clarity in complex or overwhelming experiences.
Alongside my professional training, I bring lived experience of single parenthood and the complexities of building a family in non-traditional ways. I understand some of the emotional nuances this can involve - around identity, choice, and doing things differently from those around you - and I welcome clients who are navigating these experiences.
While I offer a supportive and non-judgemental approach, I am also an engaged and active therapist. I may share reflections or gently challenge you where it feels helpful, always with care and respect.
A free 15-minute introductory call will give us a sense of whether working together feels right.

About me and my therapy practice
You’re used to finding the right words. Thoughtful, articulate, and adept at making sense of things, you might be seen by others as capable and self aware, while privately feeling a sense that something isn't quite right.
Perhaps you are told that you overthink or overanalyse. Maybe you feel quietly overwhelmed, even if your life looks ‘fine’ from the outside.
I work with people who are used to holding it together, but are feeling the cost of doing so.
My background is in writing and communication, and I’m drawn to clients who are reflective and self-aware, yet feel stuck, disconnected, or close to burnout.
Together, we can begin to understand what’s going on beneath the surface. Using acceptance, warmth and close listening, I will help you to feel safe to explore what is troubling you, at your own pace.
Additionally, I recognise that not everyone’s life follows a conventional path. If you are considering non-traditional paths to parenthood, you will find understanding here.
Sessions are conducted in pleasant therapy rooms on Down Terrace in Hanover, Brighton. as well as online. I also offer walk-and-talk therapy in a Queen's Park.

About me and my therapy practice
You may be someone who has taken, or is considering taking, a less conventional path in life or parenthood.
Perhaps you are navigating solo motherhood, co-parenting, or thinking about different routes into having a child. You might also be carrying the emotional impact of a path that hasn’t unfolded as you had hoped.
At the same time, you may appear to be coping well on the outside – managing work and responsibilities – while inside feeling overwhelmed, uncertain, or stretched. You may be struggling with the realisation that your life doesn’t fit a conventional template, or be feeling the strain of supporting others without always being supported yourself.
I work with thoughtful, reflective adults who are looking to make sense of complex life experiences. My approach is integrative and shaped around you. We might explore patterns or past experiences, or focus on what’s happening in the present, depending on how you are feeling at the time.
My personal experience includes a non-traditional path into parenthood and family life. This means I bring an awareness of the emotional complexity that can arise in areas such as solo parenting, co-parenting, and alternative routes into having children. I will always approach your experience with curiosity and care, recognising that your path and feelings are individual to you.
I offer a calm, thoughtful, and non-judgmental relationship in which you don’t have to justify the shape your life has taken, and where you can find the space to understand and process your experiences.
