About me and my therapy practice
Life can feel overwhelming at times of change, leaving us feeling anxious, empty, lost and alone. It can be difficult to ask for help, so you are taking a big step by looking here.
You don't have to feel like this.
I offer a warm, calm place where you can talk freely and begin to make sense of what is happening. Together we can explore your thoughts and feelings to discover balance and strength on your terms.
You are in control of the pace and direction of therapy, focused on you (Person Centred). In our calm space, you will not be judged, feel pressured or rushed, but you will be treated with warmth, respect, compassion and empathy, whatever your identity or background.
Before becoming a counsellor, I worked as a nurse in intensive and palliative care, supporting people through illness, loss and health difficulties. I have volunteered for Cruse Bereavement Support for over 5 years and also volunteer for Blue Cross Pet Loss support.
These experiences shaped the way I work- calmly, compassionately and with deep respect for your unique story.
Being of Asian origin, having lived in Africa and now living in England, I have knowledge and curiosity about different cultures.
Practice description
You are important, unique and the expert on yourself. I respect this and work with you at the centre of our work as I support you.
My aim is to hear and see the real you by creating trust, safety, seeing and hearing you as you are with compassion.
Feel free to contact me for a free 20 min informal chat with no obligation. If we feel I am not the best fit to work with you, I can try to help you find someone who is more appropriate to your needs.
My first session
Our first session will involve talking about what brought you to seek counselling, what your aims are and agreeing a way of working (things like timing, location and frequency). We can also discuss any concerns or questions you may have.
The most important thing is that you feel safe respected and comfortable.
