About me and my therapy practice
I’m Laura. Who are you? Not that a name defines a person, but I state that to show up - open, accountable and real.
Is life too much sometimes? Are you too much? Or not enough?
Whether or not these questions ring true for you, I invite you to explore your truth, your questions, and meet the parts of yourself you might’ve been aching to find or finding hard to be with.
“I’m only human, after all.” - Rag'n'Bone Man
Together, we can start to make meaning from the mess and metabolise the suffering.
I hold space for both joy and pain with steadiness and care.
In me, you’ll meet someone who’s easy to talk to, bringing sometimes stillness, sometimes animation, always empathy. I’m often insightful, occasionally wise, and willing to be wrong.
I’m endlessly curious about what it means to be human, and I’m here to keep learning, especially through connection. Raised in two European cultures, I hold a deep appreciation for cultural diversity and the complexity of identity.
I’m diagnosed with ADHD and identify as AuDHD. I’m also ACA-informed, aware of how unspoken family roles can shape our sense of self and worth. As the Big Red Book says:
“Counselling makes us aware of dysfunctional family roles and the unspoken messages that drive us to doubt ourselves.”
Practice description
I hold a Bachelor’s degree in therapeutic practice, integrating Gestalt, Person-Centred, and Transactional Analysis approaches. These humanistic modalities allow me to meet you in your world - to listen deeply, attune to your experience, and help uncover what’s already within you.
Everything you’ve lived through, and everything you hope for, lives in you now. From this present moment, change becomes possible.
I believe you are the expert on your own life. My role is to walk beside you, to reflect, and to sometimes gently offer new context or perspective when it may serve your growth.
I bring both lived experience and professional training to our work. Whether through my own journey or walking alongside loved ones, I hold personal understanding of depression, anxiety, trauma, neurodivergence, cultural identity, physical difference or disability, queerness, compulsion and addiction, codependency, suicidal thoughts, existential questioning, and spirituality.
If your specific concern isn’t listed here, please don’t hesitate to reach out. So much of our experience overlaps and defies categories.
Clients who have told me CBT “only took them so far” found progression in a relational approach such as mine.
They often begin to notice subtle, meaningful shifts in their day-to-day lives. These shifts evolve alongside the therapeutic relationship, opening space for new perspectives and ways of being.
My first session
In our first conversation, we'll start to unfold what brings you to counselling at this time in life. For us both to get a feel of the working relationship, I ask you to take up one of two options:
- A free 10-20 minute consultation of your preference - video call or just audio. As a text-based option, please use the contact function on this page, from which we can continue the conversation.
- A full first session of 50 minutes in-person, for half of the regular fee (£40).
If choosing the option of a free consultation, the first 50 minute session is the full regular fee (£80).
Types of therapy
Existential, Gestalt, Humanistic, Person centred, Relational, Transactional analysis
Clients I work with
Adults, EAP, Older adults, Young people
How I deliver therapy
