About me and my therapy practice
Life can change in ways that leave you feeling untethered from who you were. Grief, divorce, illness, role changes, or other unexpected transitions can quietly reshape your identity, your relationships, and your sense of direction. You may be functioning on the outside while feeling overwhelmed, numb, or not quite like yourself underneath. You may be struggling to function and feel shame about not living up to who you once were. You might wonder whether what you’re experiencing is grief, anxiety, burnout, or something else entirely.
I’m a relational and somatic therapist. That means we pay attention not only to your thoughts and story, but also to how change is living in your body. Together, we slow things down and make sense of what’s happening. We reduce self-blame and build steadiness that fits your real life, especially on low-capacity days.
My approach is warm and thoughtful. I offer 1:1 therapy for people who want consistent individual support, helping you move through what’s happened and rebuild a life that matches your true needs today. If you’re navigating a season of change and looking for grounded, relational support, I welcome you to reach out.
Practice description
I work online, by telephone or outdoors in the UK. My locality is Huddersfield and the surrounding areas.
Accessibility
My office in Huddersfield town centre is wheelchair-accessible.
Outdoor therapy can also be planned at wheelchair-accessible locations.
I consider all accessibility needs with sensitivity, working from the social model of disability framework. Please get in touch to discuss your requirements for online or in-person work: michellegoldsmith@protonmail.com
My practice is LGBTQIA+, GSRD & neurodiversity affirmative; sex-positive; fat-positive.
I'm committed to ongoing self-reflection about how my social locations, such as race, class, and gender, amongst many others, may interact with yours. A conversation about how power and privilege manifest in our relationship and how this affects you is always open.
