About me and my therapy practice

Looking for a therapist can feel overwhelming, especially when you are carrying emotional pain or facing difficult life changes. My aim is to provide a warm, compassionate, and accepting space where you can feel safe to talk openly, without fear of judgement or pressure.

As a person-centred therapist, I believe that you are the expert in your own life. My role is to walk alongside you with empathy, authenticity, and respect, offering a trusting relationship where you can explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences at your own pace. Together, we can make sense of what is happening for you, helping you reconnect with your strengths and move towards the life you want to live.

I work with adults experiencing a wide range of emotional and psychological difficulties, including:

- Anxiety

- Depression

- Low self-esteem

- Bereavement and grief

- Personal development and self-exploration

- Losses experienced through changes of circumstances e.g. retirement, redundancy, breakdown of relationships, changes in health or physical ability, other significant life transitions.

I have specialist Continuing Professional Development (CPD) training in bereavement, which has enhanced my understanding of the many ways grief can affect our emotional, physical, and psychological wellbeing. I also have experience supporting clients following miscarriage and child loss, recognising that these deeply personal experiences can bring complex emotions that are often difficult to express or feel understood by others.

Whatever your experience of loss, I offer a space where your feelings can be acknowledged without judgement and where your story can be heard at your own pace.

I am a qualified person-centred counsellor and a Registered Member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (MBACP).

I hold an Enhanced DBS check.

My first session

I offer a free 30-minute introductory consultation, giving you the opportunity to ask questions, discuss what has brought you to therapy, and decide whether we are the right fit to work together.

If you choose to continue, our first session will include completing a client information form and counselling agreement, as well as exploring what you would like to gain from therapy. We will work at a pace that feels comfortable for you.

Confidentiality is central to the counselling relationship. Everything you share is treated with respect and kept confidential. The limits of confidentiality will be discussed with you during our first session so that you understand how your information is handled.
