About me and my therapy practice
A Safe Space to Be Truly Heard
Welcome to The Quiet Harbour. If you are feeling overwhelmed, lost, or carrying a weight that feels too heavy to hold alone, I offer a compassionate and non-judgmental space for you to explore what is on your mind. As a BACP-registered counsellor, I provide online therapy from the comfort of your own home, ensuring you can access support in an environment where you feel most at ease.
My Approach
My practice is built on an integrated and person-centred foundation. This means I do not use a "one size fits all" approach; instead, I tailor my support to your unique needs and pace. I believe that you are the expert in your own life. My role is to walk alongside you, offering a stable and supportive relationship that facilitates growth and healing.
Specialist Support
I work with individuals of all ages facing a range of challenges, with a particular focus on:
Anxiety and Stress: Helping you find calm and clarity when life feels overwhelming.
Grief and Loss: Supporting you through the difficult process of navigating life after a significant change.
Crisis and Deep Distress: I specialise in working with self-harm and suicidal ideation, providing a dedicated and safe environment to talk through these complex feelings and develop effective coping strategies.
How We Will Work Together
I believe the heart of successful therapy is an authentic relationship. Whether you are struggling with a specific issue or simply need a space to feel truly heard, I am here to offer the empathy and professional support you deserve.
Taking the first step toward therapy can feel daunting. If you have any questions or would like to see if we are a good fit, I invite you to get in touch for an initial free consultation (20 minutes)
Practice description
The Quiet Harbour is an online counselling practice designed to be a peaceful, accessible "port in the storm" for those navigating life's most difficult seasons. By working exclusively online, I offer you the opportunity to engage in deep therapeutic work from the safety and privacy of your own home.
My practice is rooted in the belief that an authentic, trusting relationship is the most important factor in healing. I provide a calm and stable environment where you can feel truly heard without fear of judgment.
Working with Trauma and Crisis
In addition to supporting clients with anxiety, stress, and grief, I have extensive experience in working with trauma and its lasting effects on the mind and body. I understand how overwhelming past experiences can impact your present life. I also specialise in supporting individuals experiencing self-harm and suicidal ideation. In these moments of deep distress, I provide a safe, contained space to explore these feelings, find clarity, and develop sustainable coping strategies for the future.
What to Expect
When you reach out to The Quiet Harbour, you can expect:
Confidentiality and Safety: A professional, BACP-regulated environment.
A Tailored Approach: Therapy that respects your pace and acknowledges you as the expert in your own journey.
Compassionate Presence: A therapist who is willing to walk alongside you through the heaviest of topics
My first session
The first step is often the hardest, so I aim to make our initial session as comfortable and low-pressure as possible. This first meeting is an opportunity for us to meet one another, for you to share what has brought you to therapy, and for us to see if we are a good fit to work together.
What we will cover:
Getting to know you: We will talk about your current challenges and what you hope to gain from our time together.
Your history: If you feel comfortable, we may briefly touch on your background and any specific experiences with trauma or crisis you would like to address.
Practicalities: I will explain how our online sessions work, discuss confidentiality, and answer any questions you may have about my approach or the therapeutic process.
There is no pressure to share everything all at once. We will move at a pace that feels safe for you. Whether we decide to work together short-term to tackle a specific issue or long-term for deeper healing, this first session is the foundation of our "Quiet Harbour"—a space where you can begin to feel supported and understood.
I offer a free 20-minute initial consultation to help you decide if I am the right therapist for you before committing to a full session.
